Government declares public holiday on May 28 for Bakar Eid

The government has declared a public holiday on May 28 on the occasion of Bakar Eid (Eid-ul-Adha) for Muslims.

Spokesman at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ananda Kafle, said that as the Muslim Commission has communicated to the ministry that Bakar Eid (Eid-ul-Adha) falls on Thursday, May 28, a public holiday will be observed on that day.

According to the notice published in the Nepal Gazette by the government on February 1, a provision has been made to grant a public holiday on the day of the Islamic festival of Bakar Eid.

The government has extended its greetings to Muslims living in the country and abroad, as well as to all Nepali sisters and brothers on the occasion of Bakar Eid festival.
