CPN (MC) Chairman Dahal, Home Minister Khand hold meeting

CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand held a meeting on Monday. During the meeting held at Dahal’s residence in Khumaltar, the duo discussed contemporary political issues. According to a Khumaltar source, the two leaders discussed giving continuity to the five-party alliance. The source said that both of them stood in favor of giving continuity to the alliance.

Govt will boost morale of security personnel: Home Minister

Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has said the government would do its best to assist in increasing the morale of security personnel. He also directed police officers to boost the morale of police personnel. The minister was speaking at an event organized here today after taking lunch with police personnel belonging to a security battalion assigned to look after Singha Durbar. The Home Minister also praised the police for fulfilling its duty to provide security and control crimes including during the recently held elections responsibly. On the occasion, he also inspected the police barracks at Singha Durbar. He directed the entire police to provide security and curb crimes by utilizing technologies at maximum.

Suspicious object found outside former minister Baskota’s house in Bhaktapur

A suspicious object has been found outside the house of CPN-UML leader Gokul Baskota in Lokanthali of Bhaktapur on Sunday morning. Police have suspected that the suspicious object could be a pressure bomb. A team of police has reached the area for investigation. Police said that a bomb disposal team is heading towards the spot. Baskota has recently won the election to the House of Representatives from Kavre-2. An Improvised explosive device (IED) had gone off at the under-construction house of Baskota, former Minister for Communications and Information Technology, in March 2020.

Indian envoy calls on PM for the second time after elections

Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava called on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday. This is the Indian envoy’s second meeting with Deuba since November 20 elections. According to sources, the duo discussed contemporary political issues including the formation of the government. The meeting takes place at a time when tense talks between Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center) are going on about government formation. NC leaders close to Deuba are repeatedly meeting Maoist Chairman Dahal.
