ApEx begins Pokhara campaign
Pokhara: The Annapurna Express has launched a Pokhara special campaign targeting Pokhara and its neighboring areas. As part of this campaign, a team of ApEx conducted a door-to-door program in Pokhara on Saturday morning, where people were informed about the materials published in The Annapurna Express. They were also informed about the daily’s advertising and subscription plans. The team also discussed and consulted with the representatives of various organizations in Pokhara about potential cooperation. The daily has decided to report and publish news, advertising and subscription plans targeting Pokhara. In the coming days, ApEx will play a key role in making Pokhara’s tourism sector known to the world. According to Annapurna Media Network’s Deputy General Manager Bikash Shrestha, an annual subscriber of The Annapurna Express will get two movie tickets of Cineplex cinema, Rs 500 worth discount coupon of Foodmandu, two tickets of Annapurna Cable Car and a health check-up coupon worth Rs 6,000 on behalf of Kathmandu Mediciti Hospital.
Political literacy and leadership training
Nepalgunj: Political literacy and leadership training has been provided to the women and girls of Banke. A three-day training was conducted in coordination with Nepal Leadership Academy. Chief guest of the program Lumbini provincial assembly member Sanju Kumari Tharu distributed certificates to the participants of the training. She said that although the constitution has guaranteed women’s representation, women still have to fight for their rights due to patriarchal discriminatory thinking. The event was chaired by the Project leader of Nepal Leadership Academy Pooja Kumari Baishya. CPN-UML Accounts Commission Member Bijaya Dhital, outgoing Deputy Chief of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolis Uma Thapa Magar, JSP provincial assembly member Sushila Paudel, and RPP district member Urmila Shah among others were the trainees. The project leader Baishya said that the capacity building program was conducted due to the low participation of women in politics. She says, “By developing the capacity of teenagers and women, they will be able to take leadership in various responsibilities of the home, society, party and state.” 25 girls and women from Nepalgunj, Khajura, Janaki and other local areas of Banke participated in the training.
ChimpVine to launch its e-learning platform
Chimpvine, an ed-tech startup, announced the launch of its gamified e-learning platform for consumers. The platform is scheduled to launch next week and will be available to consumers nationwide. The new gamified e-learning platform offers an intuitive and user-friendly interface that enables learners to easily navigate and select courses for children from PreK to Grade 8. The games are based on the Nepali curriculum and cover major subjects such as English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. It offers an exciting and engaging way for individuals to learn and improve their knowledge and skills. Subedi’s play up for international award in theater
Director Bimal Subedi’s play ‘The Departed Dawn’ has been selected for the prestigious Mahindra Excellency Theatre Award-2023 (META), India in four categories: Best direction, best choreography, best music and best light. The award will be conferred on 29 March in Delhi. META had announced the top 10 plays nomination across 13 categories which will be staged from 25-29 March. Subedi's play was selected from among the 395 entries. ‘The Departed Dawn’is about Bhutanese refugees who are forcefully displaced and compelled to be scattered in many countries. The play begins with a journey that seeks a place called home and slowly delves into the process of building a conducive environment through hardship and struggle. At life’s crossroads, when memories are overwhelming, the idea of returning home becomes impossible as everything has been burned to ashes. The play is a collaborative production between Theatre Village Nepal and Akhoka Theatre, India. Instituted by the Mahindra Group with the objective of becoming a significant platform for theater across regions, states and dialects in India, META is Indian theater's most definitive award that recognizes all aspects of the stage, including playwriting, set, costume and light design, direction and performance. Subedi is a prominent theater personality and has worked with many national and international veteran artists and renowned art centers. He has already received the ON theater award-2016 from India. He was the youngest one who received it.
