Two women were found dead at the Lakeside-based Anshuverma building and Naya Bazaar-based auto showroom in Pokhara.

The Gen Z protesters had set fire to both the buildings during the demonstrations in Pokhara on Tuesday.

Anshuverma Group belongs to the son of Social Development, Youth and Sports minister of Gandaki while the minister's brother owned the Naya Bazaar-based showroom.

They were reportedly burned inside when protesters set fire to the buildings.

Nepal Army has reached the incident sites.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be established.

The Supreme Court has suspended the hearing of cases until the next notice. 

A notice issued today by Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Bimal Poudel, mentioned that the cases that are in the process of hearing have been adjourned until the next notice.

“The hearing of the cases determined for today has been postponed as the files of cases, server have been damaged after demonstrators torched the Supreme Court on September 9 and the hearing of the cases determined from Thursday have been adjourned until further notice,” reads the notice. 

The SC also expressed sorrow for the inconvenience to the general people caused due to this. 

Five persons died and seven others were injured in a clash among the juveniles at Naubasta-based Juvenile Correction Home.

Jailer of Naubasta Jail, Jalandhar Bhusal, said that the clash took place while the juvenile delinquents tried to escape after breaking the gate. 

Out of 585 prisoners, 149 detainees and 76 from Juvenile Correction Home had fled. 

He shared that this situation surfaced as the prisoners and juvenile delinquents are kept together.

All the injured have been kept in Nepalgunj-based Bheri Hospital. 

They are undergoing treatment at different health institutions in the district.

The Nepal Army has called for support to foreign nationals who were stranded due to the adverse situation developed late in the country. 

The Army has urged hotels, tourism entrepreneurs, and other related organizations to coordinate and facilitate necessary rescue and assistance efforts.

Issuing a notice today, the Nepal Army has requested all stranded foreign nationals who are in need of rescue or any kind of support amidst the present complex situation to contact the nearest security agency or the nearest deployed security personnel.

The Nepal Army has requested the people to immediately return the arms and ammunition of security agencies looted during the protests led by Gen Z. 

The Nepal Army’s Directorate of Public Relations has issued a statement today asking for the return of arms, ammunition, and security paraphernalia looted during the demonstration to the security agencies.

The Army has warned that if weapons are misused, there could be damage to life and property, and legal action will be taken according to the law if any unauthorized person is found possessing arms and ammunition. 

Additionally, the Army has requested not to use the security forces' uniforms unauthorized.

The Army has also warned against using unauthorized uniforms of security agencies in this sensitive situation. The security forces, including the army, have recovered a total of 31 various kinds of weapons, including 23 from different locations in Kathmandu and eight from Pokhara, along with magazines and ammunition packets, from last night until this morning.

Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) that has remained shut since Monday afternoon will remain closed till the evening today. 

TIA was shut owing to increasing smoke billowing in the Kathmandu Valley due to the arson carried out during the recent protests.

TIA Spokesperson Rinji Sherpa said the flights to and from the Airport have been closed until a next decision. However, emergencies and medical flights will be carried out. Prior to this, it was closed for 12 noon today. 

Nepal Army has arrested 27 people involved in unlawful activities.

The army has stated that those arrested were found involved in taking unfair advantage of the adverse situation and engaging in destructive, chaotic and disorderly activities with the intention of looting, arson and causing loss of life and property.

Similarly, police have also recovered Rs 3. 37 million in cash from their possession.

They were apprehended from Gaushala, Chabahil and Boudha areas.

Likewise, the army has also recovered 31 different types of weapons, including 23 guns, magazines, and bullets from various locations in Kathmandu and eight guns from Pokhara, Nepal Army stated. 

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for a thorough investigation and restraint Tuesday following deadly protests in Nepal that left 20 people dead and forced Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to resign.

"I'm closely following the situation in Nepal and I'm deeply saddened by the loss of life," Guterres wrote on X.

"I urge a thorough investigation, restraint to avoid further escalation of violence and dialogue towards forging a constructive path forward," he said.

He called on the authorities to "comply with human rights law," underscoring that protests "must take place in a peaceful manner, respecting life and property."

He also called for compliance with human rights laws.
