Annapurna Post journo Bikram Pariyar dies in Baglung bus accident

Annapurna Post journalist Bikram Pariyar of Rukum died in a bus accident at Nishikhola Rural Municipality of Baglung.

Nine persons including Annapurna Post journalist Pariyar died when a bus (Bagmati Province 01-006Kha 3879) heading towards Kathmandu from Rukum met with an accident at Jaulepani in Nisikhola Rural Municipality-6 of Baglung district along the Mid-Hill Highway on Monday evening.

Pariyar was heading to Kathmandu to take part in the National General Convention of the National Dalit Journalist Association.

He was also the joint general secretary of the Federation of Nepali Journalist Rukum East chapter and Vice-Chairman of the Press Center.

DSP Madan KC, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Baglung, said that Lucky Pun Magar (18) of Dang, Binita KC (27) of Musikot Municipality-1, Rukum West, bus owner Bobydadel Nepali of Musikot-2, Tika KC (35) of Musikot-4, Kalpana KC of Musikot-3, bus driver Man Singh BK of Rolpa, Gita Thapa of Gorkha, Sujan Maharjan of Lalitpur and Bikram Pariyar (25) of Sisne Rural Municipality-5 in Rukum West were killed in the accident.

Twenty eight persons were injured in the incident.

 

Death toll in Baglung bus accident reaches nine

The death toll in the Baglung bus accident has reached nine and the identity of all the deceased has been ascertained.

Lucky Pun Magar (18) of Dang, Binita KC (27) of Musikot Municipality-1, Rukum West, bus owner Bobydadel Nepali of Musikot-2, Tika KC (35) of Musikot-4, Kalpana KC of Musikot-3, bus driver Man Singh BK of Rolpa, Gita Thapa of Gorkha, Sujan Maharjan of Lalitpur and Bikram Pariyar (25) of Sisne Rural Municipality-5 in Rukum West were killed in the accident.        

The accident took place when a bus (Bagmati Province 01-006Kha 3879) heading towards Kathmandu from Rukum East fell some 150 meters down the road at Jaulepani in Nisikhola Rural Municipality-6 of Baglung district along the Mid-Hill Highway on Monday evening.

Seven people died on the spot in the incident while two in the course of treatment at Burtibang Primary Health Center, said information officer of the District Police Office, Baglung, Madan KC.

A total of 28 people were injured in the accident.

Of the injured, one is receiving treatment at Burtibang Primary Health Center while 27 others were referred to Baglung-based Dhawalagiri Hospital from Burtibang Primary Health Center.

The bodies of seven people, who died on the spot in the accident, were sent to Rukum on Monday night while two bodies have been kept at Burtibang Primary Health Center.

 

Seven killed in Baglung bus accident

Seven persons died in a bus accident at Nishikhola in Baglung on Monday.

The bus (Bagmati Province 01-006 Kha 3879) heading towards Kathmandu from Rukum West met with an accident at Jaulepani in Nishikhola of Baglung this evening.

Inspector Raj Kumar BK of the Area Police Office, Burtibang said that seven persons died on the spot.

He said that 20-25 persons were injured in the accident.

Inspector BK informed that the injured have been taken to the primary health center in Burtibang for treatment.

He said that the bus fell some 150 meters down the road.

The identities of the deceased and injured are yet to be established ​​​​​.

 

7 killed, 30 injured as bus plunges into Trishuli river

Seven persons died when a commuter bus plunged into the Trishuli river at Ghatbesi in Gajuri Municipality of Dhading district along the Prithvi Highway on Wednesday.

The bus (Lu 2 Kha 2121) was heading towards Kathmandu from Kapilvastu when the tragedy occurred this morning.

SP Gautam KC of the District Police Office, Dhading said that seven persons, including a woman died in the accident. The identities of the deceased are yet to be established.

At least 30 passengers were injured in the mishap. "The injured were rescued and taken to Kathmandu for further treatment ", SP Gautam informed.

Locals along with Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army personnel had rescued the passengers.

It is assumed that the death toll may rise as the bus plunged into the river.

A team of Armed Police Force and Disaster Management Training School, Kurintar, Chitwan has been carrying out a rescue operation.

Police have arrested bus driver Hariram Harijan (38) of Lumbini Sanskriti Municipality-9 of Rupandehi.

10 killed in Kapilvastu bus accident

Ten persons died when a commuter bus they were traveling in met with an accident near the Surahi Bridge in Shivaraj Municipality-1 of Kapilvastu on Thursday.

According to the District Police Office, Kapilvastu, one of the deceased has been identified as Narayan Bahadur Bhandari of Pahurani Municipality-3, Rautahat.

The identities of nine others are yet to be established.

Police said that 30 persons were injured in the accident.

Among the injured, nine have been taken to Butwal for treatment. Remaining others are undergoing treatment at various health institutions in Chandrauta.

The tragedy occurred when the bus (Su-Pa-Pra-02-001 Ba 0098) heading towards Mahendranagar from Kathmandu fell some 100 meters down the road at 1 am, police said.

Two killed in Dang bus accident

Two persons died and two others were injured when a commuter bus met with an accident in Dang on Sunday.

The ill-fated bus (Pradesh 3-01005 Kha 1791) was heading towards Kathmandu from Bardiya when the tragedy occurred near Rihar, Lamahi Municipality-9 along the East-West Highway at around 11 pm yesterday.

Inspector Lal Bahadur Shrestha of the Area Police Office, Amiliya said that Bhimnath Yogi (36) and Yuvaraj Chaudhary of Geruwa Rural Municipality-1 died in the incident.

He said that 47 persons were traveling in the bus. Among them, two were injured and other passengers were safe, police said.

Bus driver sustained minor injuries and he is undergoing treatment in Kohalpur.

The bodies have been kept at the Lamahi Hospital.

A few days ago, 12 persons had lost their lives when a bus fell off the Rapti Bridge at Bhaluwang of Dang.

 

PM Dahal expresses sorrow over Dhading bus accident

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his grief over the Dhading bus accident.

At least nine people were killed and over a dozen others injured when a passenger bus skidded off the road and plunged into the Trishuli river at Gajuri Rural Municipality-2 in Dhading district today.

The bus was heading towards Beni of Myagdi from Kathmandu.

Offering his condolences, PM Dahal directed the effective rescue efforts.

"I offer my heartfelt condolences to the deceased, and the bereaved families and well-wishers. While wishing for speedy recovery to the injured, I direct the Home administration, security agencies and local administration to carry out effective rescue efforts."

At least nine killed as passenger bus plunges into Trishuli river

At least nine persons died when a bus they were traveling in plunged into the Trishuli river near Gajuri along the Prithvi Highway on Wednesday.

A police official deployed at the incident site said that they have recovered nine bodies.

He said that more than eight persons have been rescued and taken to the Gajuri Community Hospital for treatment.

The bus (Pradesh 3-01-005 Kha 9952) belonging to the Myagdi Korala Yatayat was heading towards Beni, district headquarters of Myagdi, via Pokhara from Kathmandu when the incident occurred at around 11 am today.

A large number of security personnel along with the rescue team of Armed Police Force have been deployed to the incident site.

The injured have been referred to Kathmandu after their treatment was not possible in Gajuri Community Hospital.

 

19 injured in Dasdhunga bus accident

At least 19 persons were injured when a passenger bus met with an accident at Dasdhunga in Chitwan on Friday.

The bus (Pradesh 01-006 Kha 5237) heading towards Kathmandu from Kakadbhitta met with an accident at around 5 am today.

DSP Bijay Pandit of the District Police Office, Chitwan said that the bus fell some 10 meters down the road.

He said that the injured are undergoing treatment at the Bharatpur Hospital and Purano Medical College.

The injured are said to be in normal condition.

A team of 25 persons including SP Rameshwor Karki, Chief at the District Police Office, Chitwan, had reached the incident site to carry out rescue operations.
