Light rainfall likely in Koshi and Bagmati Provinces
Light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely to occur at one or two places of the hilly region of Koshi and Bagmati Provinces in the next 24 hours.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division has said that the weather today will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces and partly cloudy in the rest of the country.
Light snowfall is likely to occur at one or two places of the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces.
At present, there is a partial influence of westerly wind as well as local air in the country and the weather at present is partly cloudy in the hilly region and mainly fair in the rest of the country.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division, in the last 24 hours, 47.2 mm of rainfall took place in Golbazaar of Siraha, 127.4 mm in Anarmani of Jhapa, 118.8 mm in Sundarpur of Udayapur, 96.8 mm in Dhunge of Sindhupalchowk, 94.4 mm in Turkeghat of Sankhuwasabha, 94.4 mm in Bhotang of Sindhupalchowk, 111 mm in Besi Sahar of Lamjung, 115.4 mm in Lampatan in Kaski and 80.6 mm in Sahukharka of Dadeldhura.
This afternoon, the weather will be fully cloudy in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces.
There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces and few places of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

The light rainfall taking place in different parts of the country for the past few days is likely to continue until Saturday, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
The weather will improve gradually from Sunday after the low impact of the westerly wind.
Meteorologist at the Department Raju Pradhananga said the pre-monsoon remained active particularly in the eastern part of the country due to local wind, low-pressure wind remaining close to Nepal and the moisture-laden wind from the Bay of Bengal.
"Currently, the weather across the country is partly to generally cloudy. Rainfall is taking place in some hilly areas in Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces. Weather will improve from Sunday," he said.
The Division said that chances of light rain or thunder and lightning are likely at a few places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpashchim Provinces and some places of Terai.
Likewise, there are chances of light snowfall at a few places of the high hills and mountainous regions in the country.

Meteorologist Rojan Lamichhane said it would be generally cloudy in the hilly region of the country including in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces while it will remain partly to mainly fair in the rest of the regions.
Sporadic to light rainfall is taking place at present at a few places of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces and at one or two places of the hilly region. According to Lamichhane, light to moderate snowfall is taking place at present at some places of the high-hilly and mountainous region of Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Gandaki Provinces, and at a few places of the high-hilly and mountainous region.
The present atmospheric temperature in Kathmandu is 12 degrees Celsius and visibility 2,500 meters, according to the Division. The minimum temperature in Kathmandu this morning was 5.3 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature will be between 15 to 17 degrees Celsius.
The weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly region of Sudurpaschim and Karnali Province and will remain fair in the rest of the regions tonight. There are chances of traces of light rainfall at one or two places of the hilly region, and light snowfall at a few places of the high-hilly and mountainous region of the country tonight.
