There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning at a few places in the mountainous region of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces, and at one or two places in the mountainous regions of the remaining provinces today.

Light rain with thunder and lightning is also likely at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division. In addition, mist is likely during the morning hours at some places in the Tarai. 

The weather in the mountainous Himalayan region of the country will be generally cloudy today and partly cloudy in the Hilly. The weather in the Tarai region will remain mainly fair.

Later tonight, haze is likely at a few places in the Tarai region. 

Weather in the mountainous region of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces will be generally cloudy. 

Similarly, weather in the hilly region of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces, along with the remaining mountainous region, will be partly cloudy, while it will be mainly fair in the remaining region. 

In addition, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning at one or two places in the mountainous region of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces.

Meteorological Analysis by the Division states that at present there is some influence of westerly winds in the country.

Mist is likely during the morning hours in some places of the Tarai region today. 

Likewise, the weather in the mountainous region of the country will be generally cloudy and partly cloudy in the hilly region. The weather in the Tarai region will be mainly fair. 

There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall at a few places in the mountainous region of Koshi, Gandaki, and Bagmati Provinces, and at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous region of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, according to the 24-hour forecast released at 8 am today by the Metrological Forecasting Division.

Tonight, there will be hazy conditions in a few places in the Tarai region. The weather will remain partly cloudy in the mountainous region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces, while the weather in the remaining region will be mainly fair. 

There is also a possibility of light rain and snowfall at one or two places in the mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Analysis by the Division states that there is partial influence of the westerly winds in the country.

Light rain is forecast in some areas in the hilly and mountainous region of the country today, as the influence of the Westerly wind still exists in Nepal at present, said the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The hilly areas of the country will experience partly cloudy weather. 

Similarly, in most places, the weather will mainly be fair. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces.

The precipitation caused by the 'Montha Cyclone' that developed in the Bay of Bengal affected daily life for a few days. In the Himalayan region, there was snowfall along with the rain.

Thirteen tourists, both domestic and foreign, were stranded at the base camp of Tilicho Lake in Ngisyang Rural Municipality-9, Manang due to heavy snowfall. They were rescued by a team from the Armed Police Force's Mountain Rescue Training Center, Manang.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) said that rainfall was recorded in 301 rainfall measurement stations throughout the country from the morning of November 1 till the morning of November 2. 

Significant rainfall has been recorded in 185 of the 301 rainfall measurement stations, it is stated.

The highest rainfall was recorded in Besisahar of Lamjung, with 71.1 millimetres of rain. 

Among the centers where rainfall was measured, four centers recorded more than 50 millimetres of rain during that period.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has predicted that there is a possibility of light rain from coming Wednesday, which will cause the temperature to dip a bit.

Temperature has risen in most of the places across Tarai Madhesh belt (lowland) and the Kathmandu Valley for some time now in absence of rainfall, the Department said.

Meteorologist Pratima Manandhar said that western and the central part of the country is currently under the influence of the westerly winds and local winds while a majority of the places in Koshi Province is impacted by monsoon air.

Monsoon is taking some time to spread across the country from the eastern part as monsoon wind is yet to be fully active. She shared that the heat has increased significantly at present due to lack of rainfall. 

However, a light rainfall is taking place in some districts in Koshi, Bagmati and Lumbini Provinces today.

She mentioned the likelihood of light rainfall in various places including Kathmandu Valley from Wednesday. "The temperature will gradually decrease from Wednesday as clouds are also forming and rainfall is likely," the meteorologist explained.

Today's maximum temperature of Kathmandu Valley was 30 degree Celsius while Bhairahawa, Dhangadi and Nepalgunj recorded 41 degree Celsius, the highest of all other places in the country. 

The Department has forecasted light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning in few places of Koshi, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces and similar weather is predicted in a place or two in hilly areas of the remaining provinces from coming Wednesday. 

A couple of places in mountainous parts of the country could witness rainfall which could affect the people's lives as well as road and air transportation, the Department cautioned and urged one and all for necessary precaution and early preparedness to reduce the impact of the rain-induced disasters.

Impact of westerly and local winds is in effect in the country at present.

There is a partial impact of the wind with water vapor emanating from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

The weather service predicted generally cloudy weather in the hilly region of the country while other places will be partly cloudy. Similarly, some parts of the hilly region and one to two places of other areas will have light rainfall coupled with lightning and thunder.

Similarly, high hills and mountainous belts will have light rains and snowfall today.

In the coming night, the hilly belts of the country and Madhes, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces will have partially to generally cloudy weather while rest of the places clear weather.

Various parts of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley, experienced light rainfall this afternoon.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, light to moderate rains were recorded in most areas of the Koshi and Bagmati Provinces today.

Min Kumar Aryal, a meteorologist at the Division, said that the rains were triggered by the influence of the Westerly winds and the increased activity of local winds. However, no significant rainfall is expected in the coming days. This weather condition is likely to persist until Thursday.

The Division also predicts that light to moderate rains, accompanied by thunder and lightning, will affect parts of the hilly regions in Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces, with a few locations in other areas expected to experience similar conditions by Wednesday morning.

In the highlands and mountain regions, light rains and snowfall are possible, which could impact daily life, agriculture, health, roadways, and aviation services.

 The public has been advised to take precautions against the potential challenges posed by these atmospheric changes.

There is influence of Westerly and local wind across the country at present. Along with this, there is also the influence of the moisture-laden wind entering the country from the Arabian Sea, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division. 

The weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly region and mainly fair in the rest of the regions. The Meteorological Forecasting Division also stated that the haze that is prevalent throughout the country at present will gradually start dissipating.

The Division has called for taking necessary measures and precautions to avoid the effects of thunderstorm, lightning and rain and snowfall that could affect health, daily life, agriculture and road and air transport.

Light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely to occur at one or two places of the hilly region of Koshi and Bagmati Provinces in the next 24 hours.

The westerly wind has had a general impact in Lumbini, Sudurpashchim, Karnali, and Gandaki Provinces, while there is a partial effect of westerly and local winds in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati Provinces. Currently, the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces are partially cloudy, with the remaining areas being partially cloudy to mainly fair.

According to the division, the weather in the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces will be partially cloudy to mainly fair this afternoon. One or two areas in the hilly regions of these provinces are likely to experience light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning, while there is also a chance of light rain tonight in one or two parts of the Koshi and Gandaki Provinces.

On Tuesday, the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces are expected to remain partially to generally cloudy, with a chance of light rainfall in a few areas. The same atmospheric conditions are likely to continue into the night as well.

Rainfall is currently taking place in some places of Bagmati, Koshi and Gandaki Provinces. This is due to the partial effect of monsoon winds that are active in the country. 

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division, in the last 24 hours, 47.2 mm of rainfall took place in Golbazaar of Siraha, 127.4 mm in Anarmani of Jhapa, 118.8 mm in Sundarpur of Udayapur, 96.8 mm in Dhunge of Sindhupalchowk, 94.4 mm in Turkeghat of Sankhuwasabha, 94.4 mm in Bhotang of Sindhupalchowk, 111 mm in Besi Sahar of Lamjung, 115.4 mm in Lampatan in Kaski and 80.6 mm in Sahukharka of Dadeldhura.

This afternoon, the weather will be fully cloudy in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces.

 There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces and few places of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

Likewise, later tonight, the weather will be completely cloudy in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at many places in Koshi, Madhesh and Bagmati Provinces and few places in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

The weather is presently partly cloudy in the hilly parts and clear in the rest of the country. This is due to the effect of local and westerly winds and low-pressure area formed around Bihar, India, says the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Later this afternoon, the weather will remain partial and generally cloudy in the hilly parts of Koshi and Bagmati and Gandaki and clear in the remaining parts of the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in the hilly parts of Bagmati, Gandaki and Koshi Provinces. In the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in the hilly parts of Bagmati, Gandaki and Koshi Provinces and one or two places in the remaining parts of those provinces.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is occurring at some places in the hilly parts of Gandaki Province and one or two places of the plains of Lumbini Province.

This is due to the partial effect of the local air and low-pressure system around Uttar Pradesh of India, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said.

Likewise, the weather will remain partial to generally clear in Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces, and clear in the remaining part of the country.

The weather this afternoon will be partly to mostly cloudy in the hilly parts of the country, and mostly clear in the remaining parts of the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali, and one or two places in the remaining parts of the country.

Similarly, the weather will remain clear tonight in hilly parts of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali and clear in the remaining parts of the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places of Koshi region and heavy rain at one or two places in the rest of the hilly areas of the country including Madhes and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

Meanwhile, the temperature of Kathmandu valley is rising continuously, with maximum temperature likely to remain between 31 and 33.4 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature of Dhangadhi and Nepalgunj has reached above 41 degrees Celsius in the past few days.

Light rain is occurring in some places of Gandaki, Koshi and Bagmati Provinces.

Presently, Nepal is under the influence of local wind, westerly wind as well as a low-pressure system formed around Bihar, India.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions and partly cloudy in the rest of the country today.

The weather will be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country during the day. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at a few places of the hilly region and at a few places of the Tarai region, the Division said.

The light rainfall taking place in different parts of the country for the past few days is likely to continue until Saturday, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The weather will improve gradually from Sunday after the low impact of the westerly wind.

Meteorologist at the Department Raju Pradhananga said the pre-monsoon remained active particularly in the eastern part of the country due to local wind, low-pressure wind remaining close to Nepal and the moisture-laden wind from the Bay of Bengal.

"Currently, the weather across the country is partly to generally cloudy. Rainfall is taking place in some hilly areas in Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces. Weather will improve from Sunday," he said. 

The Division said that chances of light rain or thunder and lightning are likely at a few places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpashchim Provinces and some places of Terai.

Likewise, there are chances of light snowfall at a few places of the high hills and mountainous regions in the country.

Presently, there is an influence of the westerly wind together with the local wind in Nepal.

Light rain or thunder and lightning is forecast at a few places of Koshi Province and at one or two places of Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces today.
