A committee constituted by the Ministry of Home Affairs to study the border dispute at Lampata along Humla and Bajura districts, and the clash that occurred there arrived in Simikot on Sunday. 

DSP Shankar Khadka of the District Police Office confirmed the arrival of the team led by SSP Bimal Raj Paudel in Simikot. 

The committee has been assigned to ascertain the facts surrounding the dispute and the incident and submit its findings to the Ministry. 

During the stay in Humla, the team will meet residents of the border area, people involved in the incident, people's representatives, political parties' leaders and civil society leaders in areas adjoining the disputed border. 

Earlier, citizens from Humla and Bajura  were involved in the clash from May 16 to 18 over the border dispute, prompting the Home Ministry to form the committee. 

The dispute arose following the commencement of a project to build a police beat at Lampata. 

The Sudurpashim Province government in the current fiscal year allocated a budget of Rs four million for the project. 

Four people injured in the clash were later rescued by helicopter.  

Separate committees led by Deputy General Director of the Department of Survey Susheel Dangol and SSP Paudel respectively were formed on May 25 to address the dispute.
