Pokhara Metropolitan City demolishes encroached structures at Prithvi Chowk

The Pokhara Metropolitan City demolished structures built on the encroached public land at Prithvi Chowk on Thursday. 

The demolished buildings belong to Sahara Club, Community Service Center, GEFONT and Trade Union Congress.

The Metropolitan Municipality has stated that the land was acquired in 2032 BS for the Pokhara Bus Park  but various organizations and individuals occupied it illegally.

Government and public land worth billions of rupees owned by the Pokhara Valley Urban Development Committee was encroached upon by political parties, their sister organizations, business houses, and squatters.

Before swing into action, the Pokhara Metropolitan City had issued a 35-day notice asking people to remove the structures built illegally.
