EFS Fight Night 8 held in Kathmandu

WBC Muay Thai Nepal organized a EFS Fight Night 8 on May 16 at Nova Club, featuring national and international Muay Thai bouts in front of thousands of spectators and athletes. In the main championship game, Guman Gharti Magar became the new ABC Muay Thai National Championship in Nepal’s Super Featherweight division. During the 55.5kg four-man tournament, Dawa Tamang defeated Mubin Rai via unanimous decision, while Alish Bomjom won against Sanju Sumba Tamang. Following their wins, Dawa and Bomjom competed for the WBC Muay Thai National Championship title. In the 68kg category, Santosh Khatri defeated Allen Thakali via split decision.

Other pro-amateur bout winners included: Avash Shrestha (58kg, split decision), Nayash Gangwar (55.3kg, unanimous decision), Jessica Lama (53.2kg, split decision), Evan Shrestha (junior category, split decision), Purnsa Dey (68kg, unanimous decision), Suman Rana Magar (split decision), Janak Gurung (69.8kg, split decision), Binduwali Rai (60kg, unanimous decision), Sujal Budhathoki (unanimous decision).

The event was attended by Donnawit Poolsawat as the chief guest. Suman Tamang attended as the special guest, while Akash Dhital participated as the guest of honor.

According to Raju Rai, President of WBC Muay Thai Nepal, EFS Fight Night 8 marked another successful milestone as the organization’s eighth national and international Muay Thai event, aimed at promoting and developing Muay Thai in Nepal.
