President Ram Chandra Paudel has said that the New Year is an occasion for us to set a common national goal and resolution for its achievement.

Giving a message of best wishes to all Nepalis on the occasion of New Year, 2083BS today, President Paudel wished peace, prosperity, health and happiness. 

The existing calendars are parts of our history and civilization, he said, adding that they remind us of our glorious past and inspire a prosperous future. "The New Year is an auspicious occasion for Nepalis to review the past and make resolutions for future progress," the Head of State added.    

The President also stated in the best wishes message that Nepal recently held the House of Representatives (HoR) election successfully, thereby giving an exit to the adverse situation the country was facing. 

"Through the HoR election, people have given a mandate to their representatives for rule of law, sustainable peace, good governance and social justice that reinforce the federal democratic republic," President Paudel mentioned, arguing that it is a reflection of people's aspiration for development and prosperity.

He also stressed the urgency of making resolutions to achieve national goals. The resolution must be for adhering to the ideals of the federal democratic republic through words, action and intent. Keeping in mind the citizens, committing to good governance, inclusion and social justice are vital and keeping intact the country's independence and sovereignty is equally essential. 

Paudel wished that the New Year 2083BS inspired everyone to work in unison to foster harmony, tolerance, trust and cooperation so that the goal of a federal democratic republic could be realized.
