TU decides to postpone exams
Tribhuvan University has decided to postpone all its scheduled examinations until further notice.
A meeting of the the Examination Controller Office of the TU held on Thursday decided to postpone all the exams scheduled to start from January 23.
Meanwhile, the Public Service Commission also postponed all the scheduled examinations until the next notice.
Passenger falls unconscious in Buddha Airlines aircraft
A passenger of a Nepalgunj-bound Buddha Airlines Aircraft fell unconscious onboard on Thursday.
Police said that Januka Thapa (45) fell unconscious after the aircraft landed 45 minutes later than its scheduled time due to bad weather.
It has been learnt that she is receiving treatment at the Nepal Army’s hospital in Ranjha.
The aircraft that took off from Kathmandu at around 7 am today landed at the Nepalgunj Airport only after 9 am.
There were 69 passengers on board the aircraft.
Nepal and Israel decide to form team to send Nepalis to work in Israel’s construction sector
Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Khadka and Ambassador of Israel to Nepal Hanan Goder-Goldberger held a meeting on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the duo decided to establish a joint working team to prepare a bilateral agreement for sending Nepali nationals to work in the construction sector in Israel, read a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
They also expressed their satisfaction over the completion of all the necessary processes with regard to the selection of auxiliary workers in the caregiving sector and announced that the first batch of 99 workers in this sector will leave for Israel today.
More than 1,000 workers selected for this category are scheduled to leave for Israel in coming weeks.
NOC hikes prices of petroleum products
Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), the state-owned monopoly, hiked the prices of petroleum products.
The NOC has decided to increase Rs 3 per litre each in petrol, diesel and kerosene.
As per the new revised rate, the petrol will now cost Rs 131 per litre and diesel and kerosene will cost Rs 112 per litre.
The NOC has also decided to increase the price of aviation fuel for domestic airlines by Rs 5 and international carriers by $100 per kilo liter.
Now, the aviation fuel for domestic airlines and foreign companies will cost Rs 106 per litre and $995 per kilo litre.
The NOC, however, has not increased the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
