Grade 12 examination results published
The National Examination Board (NEB) has published the results of Grade 12 today.
According to the results published this evening, 61.17% of regular students and 36.49% of partial students have passed the grade 12 examinations.
In the examination held last Baishakh, a total of 396,347 candidates had participated in the regular category of which 242,765 students were able to receive grades. Among them, 38.83% of students received 'non-grade' results, the Board said.
Similarly, out of 114,640 students participating in the partial category, 41,840 received grades.
In total, out of 511,525 candidates, 284,305 received grades, Chair of the Board Mahashram Sharma said.
Additionally, examinations of 11 regular and 6 partial students have been canceled. The grade upgradation examination for students with non-grades will be conducted on August 13 and 14, the board said.
Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality-6 Ward Chair Rimal passes away
Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality-6 in Nuwakot Ward Chairman Narayan Prasad Rimal passed away on Monday. He was 44.
According to the family source, he breathed his last in the course of treatment for fever and pneumonia at Bir Hospital in Kathmandu.
He had undergone a surgery for gallstone two months back.
Rimal was suffering from fever and pneumonia for a week.
He was elected the ward chair during the 2074 BS local elections, representing the CPN-UML.
Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality today declared a public holiday at the local level, mourning the demise of Rimal.
As per the local government's decision, an official flag here has been lowered at half-mast over the demise of the ward chair.
1 killed, 16 injured as vehicle carrying pilgrims meets with accident in Khotang
A person died and 16 others were injured when a vehicle carrying pilgrims met with an accident at Jayaram in Tuwachug Municipality-1, Halesi, Khotang on Monday.
DSP Santosh Shrestha of the Traffic Police Office said that the identity of the deceased has not been ascertained yet.
Among the injured, three are in critical condition.
The incident occurred when the vehicle (Province 2-01-001 Ja 0053) returning from Halesi, a famous religious pilgrimage site in Khotang, fell some 200 meters down the road this morning.
Police said that they are searching for the driver who fled the scene after the accident.
Water level rises in Mahakali River
Four-wheelers have restricted from the plying the Sharada Barrage after the water level increased in the Mahakali River in Kanchanpur district.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sagar Bohara of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, said that mobility of the four-wheelers is barred in the Sharada Barrage with the rise in the water level in the river following the torrential rain.
He said, "Vehicles are prevented from moving after the water level reaches 100,000 cusecs per second in the Mahakali River."
DSP Bohara shared that the water level reached 109,980 cusecs per second at 8 am today.
