Gold price increases by Rs 900 per tola on Friday

The price of the gold has increased by Rs 900 per tola in the domestic market on Friday.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, the yellow metal is being traded at Rs Rs 99,900 per tola today.

It was traded at Rs 99,000 per tola on Thursday, the Association said.

Similarly, the price of silver is being traded at Rs 1,380 per tola.

Finance Minister directs Security Board, NEPSE to improve capital market

Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has directed the Security Board of Nepal, and Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) to focus on improving the capital market. Both of the agencies were handed an 11-point directive in this regard. 

At a programme organized on Wednesday, Minister Sharma asked NEPSE and SEBON leaderships not to be swayed by anyone’s influence and pressure while discharging their respective duties. 

Recently, the government had appointed Krishna Bahadur Karki as chief executive officer at NEPSE and Ramesh Hamal as chairperson of SEBON.

They are made aware of how the investment of the general public could be made secure and problems of capital market solved. “Time has come to create an environment where money in the capital market is spent in mega projects. Individual’s money had entered the capital market, which should be further capitalized,” he directed the newly appointed leadership.

Different anomalies, such as insider trading, pump and dump and circular business which have posed threat to capital have been discouraged after he assumed the office, Minister Sharma asserted.

On the occasion, Finance Secretary Madhu Kumar Marasini viewed that new leaderships have been expected to lead the capital market in a positive way. Revenue Secretary Krishna Hari Pushkar said the share market was improving.

Nepse drops by 63.54 points on Wednesday

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index plunged by 63. 54 points to close at 2,547.04 points on Wednesday. 

Similarly, the sensitive index fell 11. 38 points to reach 488. 83 points.

A total of 7,652,204 units of shares of 2329 companies were traded for Rs 3.62 billion.

Likewise, all sub-indices saw red in today’s market with Non Life Insurance on the top of the table. 

Meanwhile, Reliance Life Insurance Limited was the top gainer today with its price surging by 4 percent. Likewise, Himalayan General Insurance Co. Limited was the top loser with its price dropped by 8.26 percent. 

At the end of the day, total market civilization stands at Rs 3.60 trillion.

Gold price at new record high of Rs 99, 500 per tola

The price of the gold has increased by Rs 1,900 per tola in the domestic market on Wednesday.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, the yellow metal is being traded at Rs Rs 99,500 per tola today.

It was traded at Rs 97,600 per tola on Tuesday, the Association said.

Meanwhile, tejabi gold is being traded at Rs 99,000 per tola today.

Similarly, the price of silver rose by Rs 40 per tola and is being traded at Rs 1,375 per tola.
