Barcelona made light of playing in front of just 6,000 fans to thrash Valencia 6-0 in their first home game of the season, with three players netting twice in a goal-scoring carnival, Reuters reported.

Victory propelled the Catalans to second in LaLiga on 10 points, two points behind leaders Real Madrid, who have a perfect start with four wins from four matches.

Used to playing at their 100,000-capacity Camp Nou home then at their temporary base of the 56,000-capacity Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium, Barcelona kicked off their home LaLiga campaign at tiny Estadi Johan Cruyff at their Sant Joan Despi training, according to Reuters.

It is reported that around two dozen hotels have suffered major damage during the GenZ agitation. According to preliminary information from the Hotel Association Nepal (HAN), the industry has incurred losses exceeding Rs 25bn. The Hilton Hotel in Kathmandu alone has sustained damage worth more than Rs 8bn.

The affected hotels include both domestic and international brands operating in the Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, Butwal, Bhairahawa, Jhapa, Morang, Biratnagar, Dhangadhi, Mahottari, Dang Tulsipur, and other areas. Protesters reportedly vandalized, set fire to, and looted several hotel establishments.

As many of these hotels cannot resume operations without repairs and reconstruction, more than 2,000 workers have lost their jobs during the festive season. In addition, the disruptions have hindered hotels from meeting their financial obligations to banks and other financial institutions.

“In light of such large-scale investments and the damage to private-sector properties, including public limited companies, the matter must be investigated by a powerful and independent judicial committee at the earliest. To sustain investor confidence, it is essential to ensure proper compensation from the culprits and to provide a state-backed financial package for repairs and reconstruction,” HAN said in a statement. The association further emphasized the need to collectively move forward in tourism development to usher in a transformative new era of economic stability and prosperity.

Meanwhile, 202 tourists who were unable to return home due to the protests—and whose visas had expired—have now departed with extended visas. According to Immigration Department spokesperson Tikaram Dhakal, arrangements were made on Thursday at Tribhuvan International Airport to allow tourists whose visas expired after Sept 8 to leave the country with extended visas at no additional cost.

In addition, 248 tourists obtained emergency passports or transferred their visas to travel documents. Tourists who lost their passports for various reasons were able to return home after transferring their visas to travel documents issued by their respective embassies. The visa transfer fee is set at $2.

The Baglung section of the Kaligandaki corridor was disrupted due to landslides triggered by torrential rainfall.

Information Officer of District Police Office, Baglung, Keshav Thapa said that the vehicular movement along the Kaligandaki corridor has been obstructed due to landslides at the Kalakhola area in Baglung Municipality-13 and Belbagar in Jaimini Municipality-8.

The frequent landslides in the Kalakhola area have caused difficulties to clear the debris, it is said.

Police said that the efforts to remove the obstructions and resume the traffic would be initiated once the rain stops. 

The low pressure monsoon trough is in its average position at present. 

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, there is also an impact of water vapor from the Arab Sea and the Bay of Bengal. 

The Division shared that the weather shall remain generally cloudy nationwide today. There are chances of moderate rainfall at one or two places of the hilly and Tarai regions.

Likewise, there are chances of heavy rainfall in most parts of Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali Provinces, and one or two places of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.

Similarly, the Division stated that one or two places of Gandaki Province are likely to witness very heavy rainfall today. 

Later tonight, the weather will remain generally cloudy throughout the country. Moderate rain is likely to occur in different parts of the country's hilly and Tarai regions. 

Koshi, Madesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces and at a few places in the rest of the country. 

Chances remain of heavy rainfall at few places of Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali Provinces and one or two places Koshi and Bagmati Provinces, the Division stated.

Eight people were arrested with 730 rounds of bullets from Banepa Municipality-7.

According to the Police Headquarters, a team of the District Police Office, Kavre, on Saturday night nabbed Sujan Suwal (26), Subas Gautam (28), two boys of 18 and 15 years of Banepa Municipality -7, Mahesh Mukhiya (20), of Bara, Sushanta Lo ( 24) of Bakaiya Rural Municipality-6 in Makawanpur, Timothy Tamang (21) of Temal Rural Municipality-2 and Achyut Khadka (34) of  Panauti Municipality.

Bayern are in top spot on nine points, two ahead of second-placed Borussia Dortmund, 2-0 winners at Heidenheim.

"There are no easy matches. You have to carve out that momentum. We have played ourselves into a good position, not only against Hamburg, and we are going into the next game (against Chelsea) which is again at home, with a lot of confidence," Bayern coach Vincent Kompany told a press conference, according to Reuters.

Napoli strolled to a comfortable 3-1 win away to Fiorentina on Saturday, with Rasmus Hojlund scoring on his debut as the defending champions continued their perfect start to the season and moved back to the top of the Serie A standings, Reuters reported.

Hojlund, unwanted by Manchester United, was a deadline day loan signing by Napoli, desperate for a striker after Romelu Lukaku's injury, and the former Atalanta man marked his return to Serie A with a dream debut for Antonio Conte's side.
