New party office will be constructed soon: CPN (MC) Chair Dahal
CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that a new party office would be constructed soon in a grand manner.
He said so after visiting the party office in Parisdanda on Tuesday. The office was set on fire during the Gen Z protests.
During the protests, the army rescued Dahal, who is also a former Prime Minister, and provided security after the protesters started setting fire to the homes of the leaders of both the ruling and opposition parties.
Dahal returned to the party office after the situation started limping back to normalcy.
Party Vice Chairman Agni Sapkota among leaders had also reached the party office.
Israel escalates bombardment as defence minister says 'Gaza is burning'
Israel has heavily bombed Gaza City overnight with unconfirmed reports from the US news site Axios and the Jerusalem Post that the military has now launched its ground offensive to occupy the entire city, BBC reported.
Israeli strikes are also reported in central Gaza, in the direction in which thousands of people are fleeing. Palestinian officials say there are rising numbers of deaths and injuries.
The intensification came ahead of a long-threatened full-scale ground invasion of the city, which is home to hundreds of thousands of people.

US says 'framework' for TikTok ownership deal agreed with China
Washington has reached a "framework" deal with China on TikTok's US operations, paving the way for American ownership, as the world's two biggest economies negotiate a trade deal, BBC reported.
The framework was set in talks in Madrid, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Monday, adding that President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping would "complete" the deal on Friday.
Trump said on Truth Social that the talks had "gone very well". China confirmed a framework agreement but said no deal would be made at the expense of their firms' interests.
A Wednesday deadline looms for TikTok's Chinese owner to find a buyer for US operations or face a ban in the country over national security concerns, according to BBC.
Gold hits new high of Rs 217, 100 per tola on Tuesday
The price of gold has reached an all-time high of Rs 217, 100 per tola in the domestic market on Tuesday.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of precious yellow metal has increased by Rs 1, 900 per tola today. It was traded at Rs 215, 200 per tola on Monday.
Similarly, the price of silver has increased by Rs 20 and is being traded at Rs 2, 575 per tola today.
7 escaped prisoners arrested in Jhapa
Seven prisoners, who escaped from different prisons across the country, have been arrested in Jhapa district.
Acting Information Officer of District Police Office, Jhapa, Prabin Shrestha said that five male and two female prisoners, who escaped from the Central Jail in Sundhara, Jhumka in Sunsari and Kaski Jail on September 9, were nabbed.
Shrestha said that 28 year olds Ruksar Khatun and Yeksara Khatun of Gauradaha Municipality-5, who escaped from the Central Jail in Sundhara, were held. The two had come to the police contacts after the government issued a notice asking the inmates to return to the jail. Two other prisoners from the central jail were also nabbed by the police in Jhapa.
Likewise, Dinesh Soren (33) of Kankai Municipality-6 in the district was arrested from his home. Soren, who was jailed in Kaski Prison, was arrested by the police based on the information shared by his neighbours.
Furthermore, an Indian citizen named Nabal Kishor (23) was handed over to the Area Police Office at Kechana in the district by the Indian Police after his arrest at Kishangunj in India.
Similarly, prisoner Bal Bahadur Rai (45) of Kankai Municipality-4, who escaped from Jhumka Jail, was handed over to the police by his family.
A large number of prisoners had escaped after vandalizing the jail buildings in many districts in the wake of the Gen-Z protests.
As per the reports, some prisoners are in police contact and some others informed they would be getting back to the prison within a few days.
The police administration is searching for those who have neither returned nor are in contact, it is said.

Revolution fire head coach Caleb Porter
The New England Revolution fired head coach Caleb Porter in his second season on Monday, Reuters reported .
The Revolution are 8-14-8 (32 points) and in 11th place in the MLS Eastern Conference. They are 10 points out of the final playoff position in the conference and also failed to qualify for the postseason in Porter's debut season.
The 2024 club tied a franchise record for losses by finishing 9-21-4 (31 points).
