RSP wins HoR polls from Rupandehi-2, Baglung-2

The Rastriya  Swatantra Party (RSP) has won two more constituencies: Rupandehi-2 and Baglung-2 in the House of Representatives (HoR) elections-2026. 

Party candidate Sulabh Kharel emerged victorious from Rupandehi-2 with 56,550 votes, leaving behind his nearest competitor Bishnu Prasad Paudel of CPN-UML with a mammoth margin. Paudel obtained only 12,861. 

Similarly, Chunnu Prasad Puadel of the Nepali Congress garnered 9,392, securing the third position. 

In Baglung-2, RSP candidate Som Sharma won by securing 12,647 votes against his nearest contender Tek Raj Paudel of Nepali Congress who secured 11, 868. Likewise, Gyamnath Gaire of Nepali Communist Party (NCP) secured 10,709 votes followed by Manju Chalise of CPN-UML  with 7,864 votes.

 

Dolpa faces election complaints

A complaint has been filed in Dolpa district demanding cancellation of the election. Ballot papers with half-cuts were reportedly found during counting in Wards 4 and 5 of Kaike Rural Municipality.

The complaint was jointly filed by CPN-UML, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party, and independent candidates. They accused election staff of serious misconduct and warned they may seek legal action in the High Court if ignored.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Chandradev Bharti, said such half-cut ballots are handled according to official procedures. The dispute will be addressed through an all-party meeting, following the Election Commission’s guidelines for House of Representatives elections.

RSP candidate Maharjan wins HoR polls from Lalitpur-1

Buddha Ratna Maharjan, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate for the House of Representatives (HoR) elections from Lalitpur-1, has emerged victorious with 23,373 votes.

According to Election Officer Isha Subedi, the RSP candidate won the election against his nearest competitor Uday Shumsher Rana by 9,853 votes. 

Rana finished the competition with 13,520. 

Likewise, Chetnath Sanjel, the candidate of Nepali Communist Party (NCP), obtained 6,546 votes.

Out of 77,737 voters here, a total of 52,632 votes were cast. Among them, 2049 were declared invalid. 

A total of 28 candidates including independents were in the race for the HoR polls from Lalitpur-1.

 

RSP leads in Jhapa-2

In Jhapa Constituency No. 2, Indira Rana Magar of the RSP is leading with 30,035 votes, making her victory almost certain.

Whereas, Devraj Ghimire of the UML, trails with 5,514 votes. Keshav Kumar Bhandari of the Shram Sanskriti Party is third with 3,750 votes, followed by Sarita Prasai of the Nepali Congress with 2,668 votes.

Other candidates include Dharmashila Chapagain of the NCP with 612 votes and Swagat Nepal of the RPP with 1,782 votes. Out of 147,522 registered voters, 96,436 have cast their votes.

Mishra resignes from RPP

Rastriya Prajatantra Party Vice President Rabindra Mishra resigned from all party responsibilities. He described it as an immediate leave from party politics.

Mishra announced his decision on social media on Saturday. He emphasized that his resignation does not change his views on key issues.

He stated that his support for restoring the monarchy and promoting good governance remains the same. Mishra will no longer hold any formal role within RPP.

RSP's Gyawali elected from Kailali-1

Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Komal Gyawali has been elected from Kailali-1.

The District Election Officer's Office has stated that she received 17,826 votes. 

Her nearest competitor was Janakraj Chaudhary of Nepali Congress, who received 12,867 votes. Likewise, Ramlal Dagora Tharu of Nepali Communist Party received 8,392 votes.

 

HoR elections: RSP leading in votes tally under PR electoral system

In the ongoing vote count under the proportional representation (PR) system for the House of Representatives elections, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is leading in the number of votes secured.

A total of 67, 788 votes have been counted as of 10 this morning, and the RSP has secured 38,311 votes, according to the Election Commission.

Similarly, the Nepali Congress received 11,456 votes, the CPN-UML  6,047, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party 2,818, the Nepali Communist Party 2,424, the Shram Sanskriti Party 1,476, the Rastriya Parivartan Party 871, the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party 258, the Nepal Janata Sanrakshan Party 139, and the Pragatisheel Lokatantrik Party 1,236 votes under the PR system.

The counting of the PR votes is underway. 

Parties are competing for 110 seats in the proportional category.

 

 

 

 

 

 

UML candidate Mahar wins HoR election in Bajhang

CPN-UML candidate Ain Bahadur Mahar has won the House of Representatives (HoR) election in Bajhang. Mahar defeated the Nepali Congress candidate Prakash Rasaili Snehi by a margin of 2,239 votes.

Out of a total of 57,994 votes cast in the elections held on Thursday, Mahar received 18,543 votes, while his closest rival Rasaili received 16,304 votes.

Similarly, Shailesh Kumar Singh, the candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, received 9,263 votes, whereas Min Bahadur Kunwar, the candidate of the Nepali Communist Party, received 9,757 votes, said Chief Election Officer Suwarna Man Banepali.

Similarly, the chief election officer Banepali stated that the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) candidate Bharat Mall received 504 votes, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party candidate Bishwo Prakash Jethara 405, and the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party candidate Dal Bahadur Bohara 41 votes.
