Sambhu Sah of CPN (Unified Socialist) elected mayor of Gaur Municipality

Sambhu Sah of the CPN (Unified Socialist) has been elected as the mayor of Gaur Municipality, Rautahat.

Sah garnered 7, 052 votes while his closest contender Ajay Gupta of the Democratic Socialist Party secured 3, 707 votes.

Similarly, Sail Kumari Shah has been elected as the deputy mayor.

 

3 injured as jeep carrying NC district president meets with accident in Mugu

A jeep carrying Nepali Congress district president met with an accident in Soru Rural Municipality-6, Mugu.

Three persons including Nepali Congress Mugu district President Ain Bahadur Shahi were injured in the incident.

Chief District Officer Rom Bahadur Mahat said that the jeep (Lu 1 Pa 1772) was heading towards Sorukot from Gamgadhi Bazaar, the district headquarters, when the incident took place.

Those, who sustained minor injuries, are undergoing treatment in Sorukot while preparations are being made to send Shahi and others critically injured in the incident to Nepalgunj for treatment.

 

UML’s Binod Regmi elected mayor of Kalika Municipality, Chitwan

Binod Regmi of CPN-UML has been elected as the mayor of Kalika Municipality in Chitwan.

He defeated Shiva Ram KC of Nepali Congress by 143 votes.

Regmi garnered 10, 714 votes while KC received 10, 571 votes. 

Similarly, Bimala Lama of UML has been elected as deputy mayor.

She defeated Sabita Lama of CPN (Maoist Centre) by 761 votes.

Bimala secured 10, 449 votes while Sabita got 9, 688 votes.

 

UML bags mayor, deputy mayor posts in Bansgadhi Municipality of Bardiya

Khadak Bahadur Khadka and Indira Chaudhary have been elected as the mayor and deputy mayor respectively of Bansgadhi Municipality of Bardiya.

Khadka garnered 10, 947 votes while his closest contender Bhawan Kumar Tharu of CPN (Maoist Centre) received 9, 763 votes.

Similarly, Chaudhary received 11, 035 votes while her contender Akash Tharu of Nepali Congress secured 8, 512 votes.

 

 

UML candidate elected as mayor and NC candidate deputy mayor in Waling Municipality of Syangja

Krishna Khand of CPN-UML has been elected as the mayor of Waling Municipality in Syangja.

Similarly, Kabita Tiwari has been elected as the deputy mayor of the municipality.

Khand garnered 13, 776 votes against Dilip Khan of Nepali Congress who received 12, 822 votes.

Tiwari got 12, 822 votes while her closest contender Khagisara Thapa obtained 12, 340 votes.

 

Rijal elected mayor, Karki deputy mayor of Dullu Municipality in Dailekh

Bharat Prasad Rijal of Nepali Congress has been elected as the mayor of Dullu Municipality, Dailekh.

He defeated Rudra Bahadur Shahi by 133 votes. 

Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) has forged alliances in the municipality and wards.

Similarly, Bina Karki has been elected as the deputy mayor. She defeated Tek Bahadur Khadka of CPN (Maoist Centre).

 

Balen Shah leading by 7, 479 votes in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

Independent candidate Balen Shah has stretched his lead by 7, 479 votes in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Shah has secured 15, 906 votes while Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML is trailing with 8, 427 votes.

The vote counting has been completed in two wards of Kathmandu so far.

 

Renu Dahal leading with 1, 393 votes in Bharatpur Metropolitan City

CPN-Maoist Centre candidate Renu Dahal is leading with 1, 393 votes in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

Out of 26, 258 votes counted so far, Dahal secured 9, 447 votes. Bijay Subedi of CPN-UML received 8, 058 votes.

Similarly, independent candidate Jagannath Paudel got 4, 265 votes.

Deputy mayoral candidate Chitrasen Adhikari obtained 11, 265 votes and Himala Gurung of Rastriya Prajantra Party got 6, 577 votes.

The Election Commission said that 127, 839 people have cast their votes in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
