Partly to generally cloudy weather forecast in hilly region

Low-pressure system causes cloudy weather in most parts of the country
The low-pressure line of the monsoon is located in the south of the average location and the effects of monsoon winds are prevailing across the country, the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said.
Also, the low-pressure system developed in the Bay of Bengal has a partial impact. It has caused cloudy weather in most parts of the country.
The weather has remained partly to generally cloudy throughout the country while light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is taking place at some places of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces at present.

Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at one or two places of Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces. There is a chance of a wind storm in some places of Tarai and Madhes of Koshi Province.

There is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms and lightning at one to two places of hilly areas in Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
There is a chance of light snowfall at one or two places of the high hilly and mountainous region of Koshi province. Likewise, gusty winds are predicted to occur at some places of Koshi, Madhes and Lumbini provinces.

Cloudy weather with rainfall to continue across the country for some days
Continuous rainfall is taking place in Bagmati, Koshi and Gandaki Provinces due to the influence of the Westerly wind.
Cloudy weather along with rainfall will continue throughout the country for some days, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
Meteorologist at the Department Govinda Kumar Jha said the westerly wind, local wind and the moisture-laden wind coming from the Arabian Sea currently influencing the weather in Nepal.
"The weather is partly to generally cloudy throughout the country, including in the Kathmandu Valley at present. This trend will continue for some days," he added.
Weather to remain cloudy for three more days
The Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has predicted light rain along with lightning for the next three days in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces.
According to the Division, there is a possibility of light rainfall in the hilly areas of the far-western and mid-western regions from today.
Meteorologist Saroj Pudasaini said there is a possibility of rain in the hilly regions of different provinces and snowfall in the high hills and mountainous areas.
"There is an influence of westerly wind and local wind in Nepal now and it is still partly cloudy in the hilly parts of the country including Koshi Province," he said, adding, "Although there was rain in the eastern part of the country earlier, there was no rain in the western region."
According to the Division, light rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at a few places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces and at one or two places of the Madhes Province and the rest of the hilly regions in the next 24 hours.
Cloudy weather will continue till Thursday, says Met office
The cloudy weather that started from the west last night is spreading across the country today. This process will continue till Thursday and the weather will gradually improve from Friday, said Ganga Nagarkoti, a meteorologist of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
The weather has become cloudy with light to moderate rain in some places of Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is also a possibility of rain in Kathmandu on Thursday with sporadic drizzle before that.
There is currently the influence of westerly winds in Nepal. However, the weather is partly to mostly cloudy in Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces, while in the rest of the land the weather is partly to mostly clear.
A few places in the Tarai are experiencing light rain.
