Mahanagar Yatayat Pvt. Ltd. has operated 16 electric buses on the Kathmandu Ring Road from June 3. The buses include 33 seats and are designed to be accessible for standing passengers too. The bus can carry around 70 passengers.
The bus was imported from China by Shasheela Motors Pvt. Ltd., uses a 144 kWh CATL battery and can travel 200 kilometers on a single full charge. THe price for the bus is Rs 13.19m.
Mahanagar Yatayat Pvt. Ltd operated 12 electric buses inside the Ring Road in June last year. The buses are operated from Chandragiri, Thankot to Banepa and Dhulikhel.
