Starmer says UK will 'never surrender' flag to far-right protesters

Britain will “never surrender” to far-right violence, Prime Minister Keir Starmer said after one of the country’s largest far-right demonstrations in decades turned violent. Over 110,000 people marched through central London on Saturday in an anti-immigration protest led by far-right activist Tommy Robinson, also known as Stephen Yaxley-Lennon. Clashes with police left 26 officers injured and at least 24 people arrested, according to Al Jazeera.

Starmer emphasized that peaceful protest is a core British value but condemned attacks on officers and intimidation of minority communities. He said the national flag symbolizes diversity and tolerance, not fear and division.
