Nine people were killed and seven injured Tuesday in an explosion at an Enaex Brasil explosives factory in Quatro Barras, Parana state, Xinhua reported.

The blast occurred while workers handled materials for loading onto a truck. Authorities said DNA tests will be needed to identify the victims.

Brazil’s Labor Ministry has launched a safety investigation.
