3 die, 16 fall sick after consuming toxic mushroom in Makawanpur
Three people have died and 16 others have fallen ill within a week after consuming wild mushroom in Makawanpur.
The deceased have been identified as Dipesh Lama, the four-year-old son of Binod Lama, of Kailash Rural Municipality, Nirumaya Rumba (25) of the same locality, and Bal Bahadur (55) of Raksirang Rural Municipality 7, said Deputy Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson of District Police Office, Makwanpur. Eight others have returned home after treatment at the Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan and eight others are undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
Meanwhile, police have urged the people not to eat wild mushroom.
