Hearing committee to seek complaints against proposed Chief Justice Shrestha

The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has decided to seek public complaints against the proposed Chief Justice Bishwombar Prasad Shrestha.

A meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee held in Singha Durbar on Tuesday decided to publish a public notice to file complaints against Shrestha within 10 days, senior member of the committee Pashupati Shumsher JB Rana said.

He said that the complaints can be lodged against Shrestha within 10 days from the date of publication.

A meeting of the Constitutional Council held on August 3 had recommended the senior most Justice of the Supreme Court Shrestha for the new Chief Justice.

There is a provision that President Ram Chandra Paudel will appoint the Chief Justice after the Committee completes the parliamentary hearing process and endorses the name.
