CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) will be discussed within the party after the local level elections.

Speaking to journalists in Biratnagar on Sunday, Chairman Dahal said that he would tender his resignation if the MCC failed from the party.

“Party leaders have differing views on the MCC,” he said, adding, “We have decided to have the same opinion till the elections and hold discussions meticulously after the elections.”

“The MCC will be discussed after the local level elections. I will resign if the MCC fails in the discussions,” Dahal said.

He said that the $500 million grant compact was endorsed along with the interpretative declaration from the sovereign House of Representatives as a part of the agreement.

“Discussions have been going on about the MCC for a long time. It was ratified along with the interpretative declaration from the sovereign House of Representatives as a part of the agreement,” he said, adding, “We believe that the interpretative declaration will be implemented with due respect.”
