Neves hat-trick steals show as PSG outclass Toulouse 6-3

Joao Neves netted a brilliant hat-trick as French champions Paris St Germain secured a crushing 6-3 Ligue 1 victory at Toulouse on Saturday in a match involving three penalties, Reuters reported.

Portuguese midfielder Neves opened the scoring in the seventh minute, pouncing on a loose ball before taking a touch and firing a stunning overhead kick into the top corner.

Bradley Barcola doubled the visitors lead two minutes later, racing on to a through ball before drilling home a low finish from a tight angle, according to Reuters.

Real Madrid rally to beat Mallorca 2-1 despite VAR woes

Real Madrid recovered from a goal down to beat Mallorca 2-1 at the Bernabeu on Saturday as the home side made light of having three goals chalked off after VAR reviews to make it three wins out of three in La Liga this season, Reuters reported.

What should have been a comfortable victory for the home side left fans with their nerves jangling, however, and they needed a goalline clearance from Alvaro Carreras to secure the three points.

Kylian Mbappe had a goal overturned by VAR when he pounced to score from a superb ball by Trent Alexander-Arnold in the seventh minute, but the review found him to be marginally offside, according to Reuters.

AFC and FIFA official matches not to be held at Dasharath Stadium

The official matches of FIFA and AFC will not be held at the Dasharath Stadium, Nepal’s only internationally recognized stadium.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has said that the FIFA and AFC matches cannot be played at the Dasharath Stadium, citing lack of standards during an inspection.

According to ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai, Nepal will no longer be allowed to host any FIFA and AFC matches at the Dasharath Stadium.

“The official matches of FIFA and AFC will not be held at the stadium until the standards are met,” he said.

Rai, however, said that the SAFF and other international series will be held at the stadium.

Champions League final to kick off three hours earlier from 2026, says UEFA

The Champions League final will kick off three hours earlier at 1800 CET (1600 GMT) starting in 2026, European soccer's governing body UEFA said on Thursday, in a bid to give fans an improved experience, Reuters reported.

The 2025 final in Munich, where Paris St Germain beat Inter Milan 5-0, kicked off at 2100 CET, which left fans trudging out of the stadium close to midnight once the trophy celebrations had died down.

UEFA said the earlier kickoff would improve access to public transport after the match, while host cities would benefit economically when fans continue their celebrations outside the stadium.

"The new kickoff time will make it even more accessible, inclusive, and impactful for everyone involved," UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin said in a statement, according to Reuters.
