President Paudel and NA Chair Dahal hold meeting
President Ram Chandra Paudel and National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal held a meeting today.
In the meeting that took place at the President's Office, Shital Niwas today, Dahal informed the President about his (Dahal's) participation in the 151st General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) on behalf of Nepal's Federal Parliament.
The 151st General Assembly of the IPU, which has members from the parliaments of 181 countries worldwide, will be held in Geneva, Switzerland from October 19 to 23.
A delegation of the Federal Parliament, led by the Chair of the National Assembly, is going to participate in the IPU 151st general assembly.
On that occasion, Chairman Dahal also informed the Head of State regarding the National Assembly elections to be held in Magh.
The Chairman of the upper house of the Federal Parliament, Dahal, met with Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Sunday to discuss and provide information on contemporary issues such as Nepal's participation in the IPU General Assembly and the National Assembly elections.
Three dead, two injured in factory wall collapse in Chitwan
Three people died and two others were injured when a factory wall collapsed at the Kisan Dana Factory at Shantikunj Tole of Ratnagar Municipality-12 in Chitwan district this morning.
According to Rabindra Khanal, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office, Chitwan, the deceased have been identified as Sumara Darai (45) of Khairahani Municipality-2 in Chitwan, Ramesh Damai, (45) of Gorkha district and currently residing at Ratnanagar Municipality-2 in Chitwan and Kamal Gurung (45) of the same place.
DSP Khanal shared that the incident occurred at 9:50 am when the wall no 4 of the factory suddenly collapsed burying five workers under the debris.
Among all five injured ones, three succumbed to the injury during treatment at Chitwan Medical College, police said.
Likewise, two injured workers are Jitendra Mahato (39) and Akaj Prasad Tharu (40) currently residing at Ratnanagar Municipality-12 in Chitwan.
They are currently undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College and their health condition is normal, reported DSP Khanal.
Police are looking into the case.

Odinga died on Wednesday while receiving medical treatment at a hospital in India.

Italy beat Israel 3-0 at home on Tuesday thanks to a Mateo Retegui double and a late goal from Gianluca Mancini, securing at least a World Cup playoff berth amid tension between police and some demonstrators at a pro-Palestinian march, Reuters reported.
Retegui put Italy ahead just before the break after he was fouled and converted the resulting penalty. He netted the second in the 74th minute by winning possession on the edge of the area, cutting inside and curling his effort into the top corner.

Bangladesh garment factory fire kills 16, toll may rise
A fire on Tuesday at a garment factory in Bangladesh and an adjacent chemical warehouse killed at least 16 people and injured others, and the death toll could rise, an official said, Reuters reported.
The cause of the blaze wasn't immediately known, fire service director Tajul Islam Chowdhury said.
"Sixteen bodies have been recovered from the second and third floors of the garment factory," he said, adding that the number of deaths could rise as recovery operations were continuing, according to Reuters.
