Erling Haaland bagged another two excellent goals to take his Premier League tally to 13 for the season in Manchester City's 3-1 win over Bournemouth, a performance that left both his manager and his opponents in awe, Reuters reported.

City boss Pep Guardiola was animated as he described Haaland's first goal -- a ruthless run from the halfway line that was finished with trademark precision.

"It's the first goal, the way he kicked the ball down the grass. It's like, 'I'm going to score this,' it's this determination," said Guardiola, who hugged his prized striker when the two were walking off the pitch, according to Reuters.

A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck near the northern Afghan city of Mazar-e Sharif early on Monday, killing at least 10 people and injuring about 260, authorities said, with the death toll likely to rise, Reuters reported.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake hit at a depth of 28 km (17.4 miles) near Mazar-e Sharif, which has a population of about 523,000.

"A total of 150 people injured and seven martyred have been reported and transferred to health centres as of this morning," said Samim Joyanda, the spokesperson for the health department in Samangan, a mountainous northern province near Mazar-e Sharif told Reuters.

The Department of Passport has made it clear that it will distribute 1,000 passports daily.

The Department, through a notice, announced that passports will be available daily from today (except on public holidays).

The Department has already signed a procurement agreement in Shrawan with a new supplier for electronic passports and, according to the agreement, new infrastructure and systems are being put in place to start passport services from February 23, 2026, the press release issued today stated.

The Department has clarified that there have been some issues in passport distribution due to transition between the new and current suppliers (handover and takeover) as well as the limited number of passport booklets and high demand from service users.

It stated that efforts are being made to ensure that there is no shortage of passports until the mentioned period, urging everyone that only those service seekers who urgently need passports should apply until further notice.

The Department has drawn attention of all to not relying on unauthorised persons regarding passports and to be cautious of potential fraud from such individuals.

Light rain is forecast in some areas in the hilly and mountainous region of the country today, as the influence of the Westerly wind still exists in Nepal at present, said the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The hilly areas of the country will experience partly cloudy weather. 

Similarly, in most places, the weather will mainly be fair. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces.

The precipitation caused by the 'Montha Cyclone' that developed in the Bay of Bengal affected daily life for a few days. In the Himalayan region, there was snowfall along with the rain.

Thirteen tourists, both domestic and foreign, were stranded at the base camp of Tilicho Lake in Ngisyang Rural Municipality-9, Manang due to heavy snowfall. They were rescued by a team from the Armed Police Force's Mountain Rescue Training Center, Manang.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) said that rainfall was recorded in 301 rainfall measurement stations throughout the country from the morning of November 1 till the morning of November 2. 

Significant rainfall has been recorded in 185 of the 301 rainfall measurement stations, it is stated.

The highest rainfall was recorded in Besisahar of Lamjung, with 71.1 millimetres of rain. 

Among the centers where rainfall was measured, four centers recorded more than 50 millimetres of rain during that period.

Hamas has handed over three coffins it says contain the bodies of deceased Gaza hostages, according to the Israeli military, BBC reported.

Israel has received the coffins, via the Red Cross in the Gaza Strip, and transported them to Israel for formal identification.

If confirmed as deceased hostages, it would mean eight Israeli and foreign deceased hostages remain in Gaza, according to BBC.

An avalanche in Italy's Dolomite mountains has killed five German climbers, including a 17-year-old girl and her father, according to rescuers, BBC reported.

The mountaineers, travelling in separate groups, were scaling Cima Vertana in the Ortler Alps at around 16:00 local time on Saturday when the fast-moving snow hit. 

A group of three people "was fully swept away by the avalanche" and all died, said Italy's Alpine rescue service, Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico, according to BBC.

A 32-year-old man is now the only suspect after multiple people were stabbed on a train, police have confirmed, BBC reported.

A railway staff member remains in a life-threatening condition following the attack on a train from Doncaster to London King's Cross, which stopped in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, shortly before 20:00 GMT on Saturday. 

A 35-year-old man, who was arrested at the scene, has been released with no further action after it was reported "in good faith" that he had been involved in the attack. Officers later confirmed this was not the case, according to BBC.
