According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of silver, however, has dropped by Rs 10 and is being traded at Rs 5, 050  per tola today.

Ranveer Singh receives Rs 10 crore extortion threat call from Lawrence Bishnoi gang

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has reportedly received a death threat and an extortion demand of Rs 10 crore from the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, NDTV reports. 

The report says  the threat was sent through a voice note from a United States-registered phone number.

Zimbabwe humble Sri Lanka ahead of Super Eights in T20 World Cup

Zimbabwe fired a warning shot towards the heavyweights who have reached the Twenty20 World Cup Super Eight stage as they beat co-hosts Sri Lanka by six wickets to top Group B on Thursday, chasing down a target of 179 with three balls to spare, Reuters reported. 

Opener Brian Bennett scored an unbeaten 63 and captain Sikandar Raza made a quick 45 as Zimbabwe, who stunned Australia last week, handed Sri Lanka their first loss in the campaign, with both teams having already qualified for the Super Eights.

"I am pretty excited with how we have gone about our business," player of the match Raza said. "We are unbeaten so far ... nice position to be in as a captain but I will try and enjoy at least tonight."

Liverpool’s Slot says football must do more after Vinicius racism allegation

Liverpool manager Arne Slot says more needs to be done to avoid racism in football following allegations by Real Madrid's Brazilian forward Vinicius Jr that he was subjected to racist abuse from Benfica's Argentine winger Gianluca Prestianni, Reuters reported. 

Real's 1-0 Champions League playoff first-leg win at Benfica on Tuesday was overshadowed by Vinicius accusing Prestianni of directing a racist slur at him, a charge denied by the Portuguese club, the player and their manager Jose Mourinho.

European soccer's governing body UEFA said it was reviewing the incident, which led to the game being halted for 11 minutes under FIFA's anti-racism protocol, according to Reuters. 

Real say they have provided evidence to UEFA to help it investigate Vinicius racism allegation

Real Madrid have provided governing body UEFA with evidence regarding their forward Vinicius Jr's allegation that Benfica winger Gianluca Prestianni directed a racist slur at him during Tuesday's 1-0 win at the Portuguese club, the Spanish side said on Thursday, Reuters reported ​​​​​​. 

The Champions League playoff first leg clash was suspended for 11 minutes after Vinicius accused Prestianni of using the slur after Vinicius scored for Real five minutes into the second half.

Prestianni denied the allegation, saying Vinicius "misunderstood what he thinks he heard", and Benfica said they stood by their winger as UEFA appointed an Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector to investigate the allegation, according to Reuters. 

 

UAE leaders extend National Democracy Day greetings

United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a congratulatory message to President Ram Chandra Paudel on the occasion of the National Democracy Day of Nepal. 

In the message delivered on Thursday, the UAE President extended best wishes to President Paudel, as well as the Government of Nepal and the people on the occasion, the UAE Embassy in Kathmandu stated. 

Likewise, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, also sent messages of congratulation and best wishes to President Paudel on the occasion of the National Democracy Day of Nepal.
