Dr Alam of Nepali Congress elected from Rautahat-2
Dr Mohammad Firdosh Alam of Nepali Congress has been elected a member of the House of Representatives from Rautahat-2.
He received 29,528 votes, shared by Election Officer Sitaram Khadka.
His nearest competitor was Nepali Communist Party's Kiran Kumar Sah who received 18,442 votes.
Rastriya Swatantra Party's Sheikh Sagir received 9,325 votes, Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal's Ram Ashish Ray Yadav came fourth with 2,960 votes, and CPN-UML)
candidate Mohammad Atiullah received 2,382 votes.
Out of 108,872 voters in the constituency, 71,546 people voted.
RSP’s Khanal elected from Nawalparasi West
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Bikram Khanal has been elected a member of the House of Representatives in Nawalparasi West-1.
According to the final count announced this morning, he was elected by securing 45,241 votes.
His nearest rival was Nepali Congress candidate Binod Kumar Chaudhary, who lost by a margin of 35,739 votes. Chaudhary received 9,502 votes.
CPN-UML candidate Ram Prasad Pandey received 7,956 votes and Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal's Hridayesh Tripathi received 7,832 votes, according to the Office of the Returning Officer.
RSP's Thapa elected from Palpa-2
Dr Madhav Bahadur Thapa of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been elected a member of the House of Representatives from Palpa constituency-2.
According to the final count, he won by securing 26,736 votes.
His nearest competitor, Himal Dutta Shrestha of the Nepali Congress, received 12,992 votes, said Assistant Election Officer Keshav Parajuli.
Similarly, Thakur Prasad Gaire of the CPN-UMLreceived 10,503 votes, Som Prasad Pandey of the Nepali Communist Party received 5,288 votes, and Dev Prasad Shrestha of the National Republic Nepal received 693 votes, said Parajuli.
Thakur Gaire of the UML was the outgoing MP from this constituency.
UML's Thagunna elected from Darchula
CPN-UML candidate Ganesh Singh Thagunna has been elected a member of the House of Representatives in Darjula.
According to the count announced this morning, Thagunna won with 18,899 votes, according to the Office of the Chief Returning Officer. His closest competitor was Nepali Congress candidate Dharmananda Joshi, who received 15,836 votes.
Similarly, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Rajesh Singh Samanta received 8,936 votes, while Nepali Communist Party candidate Laxman Joshi received 3,065 votes.
According to Chief Returning Officer Bhuwan Giri, 43,860 votes were cast out of a total of 92,948 voters in the district.
NC's Kerung elected from Panchthar
Nepali Congress candidate Narendra Kumar Kerung has been elected to the House of Representatives from Panchthar.
According to the vote count that concluded this morning, he was elected with 17,233 votes. His nearest competitor, Hastraj Sharma of the Shram Sanskriti Party, secured 14,734 votes
Similarly, CPN-UML Aindra Sundar Nembang got 14,534 votes, Nepali Communist Party's Harka Bahadur Nembang got 11,443 votes and Rastriya Swatantra Party's Mahendra Bikram Thamsuhang got 4,197 votes, according to the Office of the Chief Returning Officer.
Chief Returning Officer Kumar Maskey shared that out of 143,408 voters in the district, 70,818 votes were cast.
RSP secures large majority in HoR elections
The RSP is leading Nepal’s House of Representatives elections. Out of 28 constituencies yet to be announced, RSP candidates are leading in 18, and the party has already won 106 seats. Other parties include Nepali Congress with 15 seats, UML 7, NCP 6, RPP 1, Shram Sanskriti 1, and 1 independent candidate.
RSP’s rise marks a dramatic shift from the dissolved House of Representatives, where it was the fourth-largest party. Presenting Balendra Shah (Balen), the outgoing Kathmandu mayor, as its future Prime Minister, the party has gained a clear single-party majority. Balen won Jhapa-5 with 68,348 votes, defeating UML Chairperson and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who received 18,734 votes—a margin of 49,614 votes.
RSP leader Sobita Gautam, elected from Chitwan-3, confirmed that a new government will be formed under Balen’s leadership. Gautam emphasized that the party aims to honor the public trust placed in the RSP and deliver results for the people.
RSP's Kharel wins in Doakha
According to the results of the House of Representatives election, Jagadish Kharel of RSP has won in Dolakha with a huge margin.
Kharel won by getting 32,376 votes. He defeated Parbat Gurung of the CPN-UML, getting 17,449 votes. The difference between Kharel and Gurung is 14,927 votes.
Similarly, Nepali Communist Party (NCP) candidate Bishal Khadka got 13,065 votes, Nepali Congress candidate Ajay Babu Shiwakoti got 12,298 votes, Ujjayaalo Nepal Party candidate Nimdorje Lama got 1,663 votes, and RPP candidate Pravin Kumar Thokar Tamang got 1,010 votes.
RSP near two-thirds majority
The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is approaching a two-thirds majority in Nepal’s House of Representatives. The party has already won 102 direct election seats and is leading in 23 more, giving it a strong chance to secure 125 direct seats.
In the proportional representation vote, about 2.5m votes have been counted. The RSP has received 1.265m votes (51 percent), while Nepali Congress has 427,000 (17 percent) and UML has 340,000 (13.5 percent). Based on this, the RSP is projected to get 61 proportional seats, Congress 21, UML 16, NCP 8, and RPP 4.
With 125 direct and 61 proportional seats, the RSP is nearing 186 seats—close to a two-thirds majority in the 275-member House. Such a majority is significant for constitutional amendments and impeachment motions, though a two-thirds majority in the National Assembly is also required for these actions.
