Lawashree Neupane of Nepali Congress elected mayor of Ramechhap Municipality
Lawashree Neupane of Nepali Congress has been elected as the mayor of Ramechhap Municipality.
Neupane was elected to the post by garnering 6, 639 votes.
He defeated Roshan Pakhrin of CPN-UML with a margin of 653 votes.
Similarly, Bala Karki of Nepali Congress has been elected as the deputy mayor of the municipality. She received 6, 640 votes.
Karki defeated Sita KC of CPN-UML with 1, 293 votes.
Balen Shah leading by a wide margin in Kathmandu Metropolitan City
Independent candidate Balen Shah has still been maintaining the lead in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
So far, he has received 17, 877 votes while CPN-UML's candidate Keshav Sthapit secured 6, 878 votes.
Similarly, Srijana Singh of Nepali Congress obtained 6, 101 votes.
Naveen Srivastava appointed as Indian Ambassador to Nepal
Naveen Srivastava has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Nepal.
Presently Additional Secretary at the Ministry of External Affairs, Srivastava is expected to take up the assignment shortly.
He was appointed as the Indian Ambassador to Nepal after Vinay Mohan Kwatra was appointed the India's Foreign Secretary.
CPN (Maoist Centre) wins in Bhimsen, Gandaki and Dharche Rural Municipalities of Gorkha
The CPN (Maoist Centre) has emerged victorious in Bhimsen Thapa, Gandaki and Dharche Rural Municipalities also.
Earlier on Monday, the party had won the elections in Ajirkot and Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipalities.
Deepak Devkota was elected chairman in Ajirkot and Bishnu Bhatta in Sulikot.
Similarly, Lok Prasad Banjara was elected the chairman in Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality, Deepak Timinsina in Gandaki and Laxman Gurung in Dharche.
Likewise, Anita Bhujel was elected Vice-chairperson in Ajirkot and Sanmaya Gurung in Barpak Sulikot while Amrita Wasti has become victorious in Bhimsen Thapa, Lalita Adhikari in Gandaki and Sunila Gurung in Dharche.
Renu Dahal leading by 311 votes in Bharatpur Metropolitan City
CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate Renu Dahal has taken lead in the mayoral in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
Out of 19, 583 votes counted so far, Dahal garnered 6, 602 votes while Bijay Subedi of CPN-UML secured 6, 291 votes.
Independent candidate Jagannath Paudel received 3, 221 votes.
Similarly, Chitrasen Adhikari of Nepali Congress has obtained 8, 026 votes and Himala Gurung of Rastriya Prajantra Party got 5, 253 votes.
UML’s Dinanath Chaudhary elected chairman of Agnisain Rural Municipality, Saptari
Dinanath Chaudhary of CPN-UML has been elected as the chairman of Agnisair Rural Municipality, Saptari.
Out of 12, 425 votes cast in the elections, Chaudhary garnered 4, 874 votes. He defeated outgoing chairman Parshuram Chaudhary.
Parshuram secured 3, 888 votes.
Kalpana Kumari Chaudhary of Nepali Congress has been elected as the vice-chairperson with 4, 216 votes.
Her closest contender Sailendri Kumari Lekhi Tharu got 3, 459 votes.
Former DIG Ramesh Kharel’s party opens account in Parsa
Nepal Good Governance Party (Nepal Sushashan Party) led by former DIG Ramesh Kharel secured victory in one ward of Parsa.
Nausad Alam has been elected as the chairman of Pokhariya Municipality-9, Parsa with 877 votes.
His closest contender Ram Babu Chauhal of Nepali Congress got 678 votes.
The party had also filed candidacies for the post of mayor and deputy mayor in Pokhariya Municipality.
UML panel wins at ward 5 in Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City
Entire panel of CPN-UML has won the elections in ward 5 of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City.
Man Prasad Limbu has been elected as the chairman, defeating Santosh Limbu of Nepali Congress.
Man Prasad received 1, 615 votes while his closest contender Santosh garnered 1, 454 votes.
The vote counting in ward 1 to 7 has been completed. The counting is underway in ward 8, 9 , 10, 11.
