Prem Suwal wins from Bhaktapur-1

Nepal Workers’ Peasants Party candidate Prem Suwal has been elected as member of the  House of Representatives from Bhaktapur-1. He won the election by securing 42, 759 votes. His nearest rival Nawaraj Golal garnered 11, 958 votes.  

Rayamajhi wins HoR seat from Arghakhanchi

CPN-UML candidate Top Bahadur Rayamajhi has won the election to the House of Representatives from Arghakhanchi. He secured 42, 675 votes while his closest contender Pushpa Bhusal of the Nepali Congress garnered 40, 945. Rayamajhi won the election by a margin of 1, 730 votes.

RSP Chairman Lamichhane emerges victorious in Chitwan-2

Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has emerged victorious in Chitwan-2. He obtained 49, 261 votes to secure a seat in the federal parliament. His closest contender Umesh Shrestha of the Nepali Congress garnered 15, 099 votes. With the victory of Lamichhane, the Rastriya Swatantra Party has won six seats so far.

NC leader Paudel emerges victorious from Tanahun-1

Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Tanahun-1. He defeated his closest contender Ek Bahadur Rana of CPN-UML by a margin of 5,388 votes. He got 25,318 votes while Rana secured 19,925. Out of the total 66,584 votes cast in the constituency, 4,000 were invalid, according to the office of the chief returning officer.

Three children killed in Rautahat fire

Three children died and three others were injured when a fire broke out at the Islam Cloth Store in Maisthan Chowk of Gaur, Rautahat on Wednesday night. The deceased have been identified as Islam Miya’s five-year-old daughter Sabina Khatun, nine-year-old daughter Ruksana Khatun and nine-year-old son Imran Mansuri, the District Police Office, Rautahat said. Police identified the injured as Muhammad Israyel Mansuri, Muhammad Imran and Nasima Khatun. They are undergoing treatment at the Gaur Hospital. The cause behind the fire was an electric short circuit, police said. The flame was taken under control with the help of Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police personnel. Police said that they are looking into the case.  

UML's Surya Thapa wins from Pyuthan

CPN-UML's Surya Thapa won the election to the House of Representatives from Pyuthan. He defeated his closest contender Rastriya Janamorch's Durga Paudel by a margin of 5,274 votes. He got 41,118 votes while Paudel obtained 35,814.  

Karki elected HoR member from Lalitpur 3

Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Dr Toshima Karki has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Lalitpur-3. She defeated her nearest rival CPN-UML's Amrit Khadka by a huge margin of 18,163 votes. She got 31,136 votes while Khadka garnered 12,963. Similarly, CPN (Maoist Center)’s Pampha Bhusal, also a sitting minister in the incumbent government, who contested from the ruling alliance, received 8,769 votes.  

NC’s Thapa secures HoR seat Bhaktapur 2

Nepali Congress's Durlav Thapa has won the election to the House of Representatives from Bhaktapur 2. He defeated his nearest rival CPN-UML's Mahesh Basnet by a margin of 959 votes. He got 24,238 votes while Basnet received 23,279. Out of the total 65,919 votes cast, 2,053 were invalid, according to the office of election officer.
