Four Nepalis die in India jeep accident

Four Nepalis including three of the same family died in a jeep accident in Shimla, India on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Rajesh Bista (37), Dilli Bahadur Shahi (47), Ekendra Shahi (37) and Laxmi Shahi (24) of Kumakh Rural Municipality-4 of Salyan.

The incident occurred while they were heading towards the workplace. All of them died on the spot, it has been learnt.

 

 

4 killed, 6 injured in Dadeldhura jeep accident

Four persons died on the spot when a jeep they were travelling in met with an accident in Dadeldhura on Thursday.

The four-wheeler (Se 1 Ja 738) was heading towards Dadeldhura from Chama when the incident occurred at Ukallikande, Nawadurga Rural Municipality-5, Dadeldhura at around 8 am today.

The deceased have been identified as Suresh Saud, Suresh Parki (23), Tara Awasthi (40) and Kalawati Saud (72) of Nawadurga Rural Municipality-5, Inspector Dambar Bista of the District Police Office, Dadeldhura informed.

Six persons were injured in the accident. They have been identified as Sushila BK (18), Pratika Karki (4), Chandra Bahadur Saud (48), driver Ram Bahadur Saud (35), Ganesh Bahadur Saud (42) and Prakash BK (44) of Nawadurga Rural Municipality-5.

They are undergoing treatment at the Dadeldhura Hospital, police said.

The jeep fell some 400 meters down the road. The reason behind the accident is yet to be ascertained.

 

 

 

 

11 injured in Darchula jeep accident

At least 11 people were injured when a jeep they were travelling in met with an accident in Darchula on Thursday.

The four-wheeler (Sudurpaschim Province 04001 Ja 0103) was en route to Hoparigad from Hopari in Naugad Rural Municipality when the incident occurred this morning.

According to the District Police Office, Darchula, four of the injured are in critical condition.

The severely injured have been identified as Parbati Tamata (25), Mohan Thagunna (26), Apsara Mahata (18), and Umesh Thagunna (35).

All the injured have been taken to Gokuleshwor for treatment.

Police Inspector and Information Officer Chhatra Bahadur Rawat said that the accident occurred due to a brake failure.

Further investigation into the incident is underway, said police.

 

Three killed in Bajura jeep accident

Three persons died on the spot and two others sustained injuries when a jeep they were travelling in met with an accident at Jagannath Rural Municipality in Bajura on Tuesday.

The deceased have been identified as Office Chief of Nepal Telecom Bajura, Lok Bahadur Khadka (55) of Dhangadhi, jeep driver Karan Mahatara (40) and Rabindra Dhami (28) of Badimalika Municipality-7, according to the District Police Office.

The injured are receiving treatment at the Basic Hospital in Kolti.

The incident occurred when the jeep was heading to install solar panels at a local Nepal telecom tower from Piluchaur.

 

Nine injured, six critically in Makwanpur jeep accident

Nine persons were injured when a jeep they were traveling in met with an accident at Athare in Raksirang Rural Municipality-9 of Makwanpur on Wednesday.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Bharat Kumar Khadka said that among the injured six are in critical condition.

Himal Basnet (16), Buddhiman Ghalan (35), Dil Bahadur Ghalan (75) and his wife Phulmaya Ghalan (70), Rup Bahadur Raut (38) and Deepak Khadka (48) of Raksirangka-9 were seriously injured in the incident.  

Surya Adhikari (50) and Kumar Tamang (14) and Sujan Tamang (28) of Raxirang Rural Municipality-9 sustained minor injuries in the accident.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Manahari Hospital.

The vehicle (Ba 15 Cha 1333) was en route to Manahari from Khairang of Makawanpur when the accident occurred.

Four Nepalis killed in India jeep accident

Four Nepalis died when a Scorpio Jeep heading towards India from Tulsipur of Dang for a pilgrimage met with an accident in India on Thursday.

The ill-fated four wheeler (UP 31 AC 7200) was en route to India from Tulsipur for pilgrimage when the tragedy occurred at Bahraich.

According to Ram Bahadur GC, Chairman of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-7, it has been reported that four persons including the driver Yuvaraj Chapagain (37) of Parseni, Tulsipur-7 died in the road accident in India.

The identities of three others are yet to be ascertained, he said.

There were nine people on the jeep.

 

 

Eight killed, five injured in Rautahat jeep accident

Eight persons died while five others sustained injuries in a jeep accident in Rautahat on Tuesday.

The jeep (Ba 16 Cha 3162) heading towards Rautahat from Gadhimai of Bara met with an accident at Lamaha along the East-West Highway.

The passengers were returning home after performing puja at the Gadhimai Temple, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Raj Kumar Rai.

The incident occurred when the speeding jeep hit a roadside tree this morning.

DSP Rai identified the deceased as Ramkumari Devi Mahara, Ram Kumari Mahara, Sakuntala Devi Mahara, Urmila Mahara, Laruwati Devi Mahara, Mahagi Devi Mahara, Phulmati Devi Chamar and driver Sri Kumar Yadav. They are from Arnama municipality-3 of Siraha district.

Similarly, Radha Ram, Aryan Ram, Dev Kumari Mahara, Ritik Mahara and Kanya Devi Mahara, who were injured in the accident, have been sent to Birgunj for treatment.

 

Two killed, seven injured in Doti jeep accident

Two persons died in a jeep accident in Doti on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Ritika Parki (3) and Dhauli Devi Dhami (40) of Lekam Rural Municipality, Darchula.

The four-wheeler (Pradesh 01-001- Ja-1489) was heading towards Dhangadhi from Lekam of Darchula when the incident occurred at Khadina in Jorayal Rural Municipality-1, Doti at around 4:30 am today, police said.

There were nine persons including the driver in the jeep.

SP Hemlal Bhattarai of the District Police Office, Doti said that seven persons were injured in the accident.

Further investigation into the incident is underway, said police.

 

Four killed in Surkhet jeep accident

Four persons died when a Bolero jeep met with an accident near Ratanangla in Surkhet on Thursday.

The District Police Office, Surkhet said that the jeep was heading towards Kalikot from Surkhet when the tragedy occurred at Takuri Mode in Birendranagar-14 along the Surkhet-Dailekh road section at 2 am today.

Police said that the jeep fell some 100 meters down the road.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.  

 

Two dead, 13 injured in Palpa jeep accident

Two persons died when a jeep met with an accident at Matiyardanda in Nisdi Rural Municipality-4 of Palpa on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Rajeeb Sunari of Mitya Belakhar, Nisdi-4, and Tejan Somai of Mityal, Ghyangsibas, Nisdi-4, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of District Police Office, Palpa, Sugandha Shrestha.

Seven-year-old Sunari and 16-year-old Somai died in the course of treatment at the Madhyabindu District Hospital in Kawasoti Municipality, Danda (Nawalparasi East) last night.

The injured are undergoing treatment at the Chitwan Medical College.

According to police, the jeep (Lu 1 Ja 3324) was heading towards Khader of Nisdi Rural Municipality-3 in Palpa from Arunkhola, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) when the incident occurred.

There were 15 people, including the driver, in the jeep.

Two killed in Bhojpur jeep accident

Two persons died when a Bolero jeep met with an accident at Parakuwa in Dummana of Aamchowk Rural Municipality-8, Bhojpur on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Runa Rai (27) and Shanti Rai (33) of Pangcha, Aamchowk Rural Municipality-10.

The four-wheeler (Ko 1 Ja 2617) was heading towards Maiyutar from Balanka via Dummana when the tragedy occurred.

The injured have been taken to the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for treatment, Inspector Dal Kumar Rai, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Bhojpur said.

Inspector Rai said that the jeep fell some 200 meters down the road.

 

Two killed in Myagdi jeep accident

Two persons died in a jeep accident at Nepane in Annapurna Municipality-4 of Myagdi district in the wee hours of Monday.

The deceased have been identified as vehicle owner and driver Ganesh Shrestha (37) and Lal Bahadur Tilija of Pauuddar, Purna Payeja, ward member of Annapurna Rural Municipality-5, said.

Police, however, are yet to officially confirm the incident and the deceased.

The incident occurred when the four-wheeler (Ga 1 Ja 7653) heading towards Pauuddar from Pokharebagar of Annapurna Rural Municipality fell some 200 meters down the road.

DSP Madan Kunwar of the District Police Office, Myagdi said that a team from Ghara and Bhurung has reached the incident site and started collecting the bodies.

He further said that police are investigating the incident.

Death toll in Udayapur jeep accident has reached eight.

Taksar (Bhojpur), March 14: All those eight people killed in a jeep accident at Mainamaini of Belaka-7, Udayapur district, have been identified.

The jeep (Ko 1 Ja 2593) heading towards Dakshin Ghoretar of Bhojpur from Dharan met with an accident at Mainamaini of Belaka-7, Udayapur district at around 10:30 am today.

Police said the jeep fell some 300 meters down the road.

Seven died on the spot while one breathed his last during the course of treatment at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

Police suspected that the accident might have occurred on the slope as the jeep was carrying more passengers than its capacity, the District Police Office, Bhojpur said.

The deceased have been identified as jeep driver Man Bahadur Basnet (40) of Itahari-9 in Sunsari, Maya Rai (70) of Parbat,  Chandra Prakash Rai (23) and six-month-old  child Bisang Chamling of Hatuwagadhi Rural Municipality-2, Bhojpur, Raj Kumari Rai (32) of Hatuwagadhi-5, Padam Bahadur Thapa (68), Kamala Adhikari (45) of Hatuwagadhi-9, and Kishan Rai (42) of Hatuwagadhi-5.

Among them, Kishan Rai died in the course of the treatment, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sudip Raj Pathak said.

2 killed, 16 injured as jeep carrying wedding attendants meets with accident in Tanahun

Two persons died and 16 others were injured when a jeep carrying wedding attendants met with an accident at Aabukhaireni Rural Municipality-1 in Tanahun district on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Aasbir Gurung (72) of Aabukhaireni Rural Municipality-6 and Tulasi Gurung (17) of Byas Municipality-9, according to the District Police Office, Tanahun.

Aasbir died on the spot while Tulasi succumbed to injuries in the course of treatment at Chitwan-based New Medical College.  

The tragedy took place when the jeep (Ba 18 Cha 5921) fell some 500 meters down the road, said police.

Subina Gurung (15), Man Bahadur Gurung (67), Sukmaua Gurung (38), Alisa Gurung (6), Sabita Gurung (19) of Aabukhairenu Rural Municipality-6 and Shishir Gurung (10) of Bandipur Rural Municipality-3 were injured in the incident and they are receiving treatment at Aabukhaireni Hospital.

Similarly, Som Lal Gurung (56), of Aabukhaireni-6, Bhakku Lal Gurung (70), Sher Bahadur Gurung (56), Aasmaya Gurung (36), Dikshya Gurung (10), Sete Gurung (52) of Pyugharphant, jeep driver Raj Kumar Bishwokarma (38) of Aabukhairenu-1, Chij Kumari Gurung (36), 18-month-old Susan Gurung, and Sunita Gurung (37) were also injured in the accident.

They are undergoing treatment at New Medical College, Chitwan, added Police.

 

Palpa jeep accident: Death toll reaches 10

The death toll in a jeep accident in Palpa has reached 10.

Eight people died on the spot while two breathed their last during the course treatment at the Lumbini Medical College.

Eighteen people were injured in the accident.

According to the District Police Office (DPO), Palpa, the accident took place at Masyam of Tinau Rural Municipality-6 in the district on Tuesday. The injured have been sent to Lumbini Medical College in Palpa for treatment.

The tragedy occurred when the jeep (Lu 1 Ja 2371) heading towards Chidis, Kusumkhola in Palpa from Dumre in Tanahun district veered off the road and fell some 300 meters down the road near Eco Farm House at Masyam.

The deceased have been identified as 60-year-old Yan Kumari Panta, 39-year-old Ram Bahadur Aslami, 67-year-old Krishna Bahadur Aslami and 28-year-old Urmila Aslami of Masyam, Tinau Rural Municipality-6.

Chandra Ranapal (70) and Chuna Ranapal (60) of Tamnagar, Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-14, Rupandehi district also died in the accident.

Similarly, the casualties include 20-year-old Gita Sunar of Khursane, Tinau-2, 66-year-old Bishnukala Kami and 65-year-old Dil Kumari Sunar of Khyaha, Ribdikot rural municipality-1, and 29-year-old Dilmaya GC of Devdaha Municipality-5, Rupandehi, said Inspector Sugandha Shrestha, the Information Officer at the District Police Office, Palpa.

According to him, the jeep driver, 45-year-old Dan Bahadur Chidi of Tansen Municipality-10, has been arrested for investigation.

 

Two Bhutanese nationals killed in Nepal jeep accident

Two Bhutanese nationals died in a jeep accident in Helambu Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchowk, Nepal.

According to the District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk, two Bhutanese nationals— 33-year-old Abgey and 71-year-old Wangmu—died when a jeep (Ba 2 Cha 4450) they were traveling in met with an accident at Doring Cliff in Helambu Rural Municipality-1 of Sindhupalchowk district.

Police said five persons including a Nepali national were injured in the incident.

The injured have been identified as jeep driver (Nepali national) Ram Chandra Bhandari (41) of Helambu Rural Municipality-2 and Haiz (74), Phupa Chhiring (42) Guchi (65) and Fang (56) of Bhutan.

They have been airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment, Helambu Rural Municipality Chairman Nima Gyaljen Sherpa said.

He said that the Bhutanese nationals came to Nepal to visit Helambu.
