Five people died in separate road accidents in various places of the country, including in Kathmandu, the Central Police News Room stated in its bulletin.
According to police, Bhuvan Gurung (43) of Siddhicharan Municipality-9, Okhaldhunga, died after being hit by a motorcycle (Ba Pra 02-060 Pa 1275) in Koteshwor, Kathmandu on Monday.
Seriously injured in the accident, Gurung breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the National Trauma Center.
Similarly, a person died in a motorcycle (BR 30U) accident near Thakurpokhari in Gausala Municipality-4, Mahottari on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as bike rider 25-year-old rider Suvesh Kumar Yadav of Navarajpur, Municipality-3.
Yadav, who was seriously injured in the accident, died while receiving treatment at the municipal hospital in Gausala.
Likewise, a bus (Province 01-006 Kha 6649) collided with a tractor (Province 2-01-001 Ta 1467) near Vivek Petrol Pump in Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-17, Sunsari this morning, resulting in the death of 18-year-old Uttam Sardar of Kanchanrup Municipality-5, Saptari, who was traveling on the tractor.
The drivers of both the vehicles have been taken into police custody.
Likewise, Surendra Paswan (22) of Tejapakad, Municipality–3 died in a motorcycle collision at Paroha Municipality-6, Rautahat on Monday.
The incident occurred when the motorcycle (BR 05 AH 2877) collided head-on with another motorcycle (BA 81 Pa 6448) last night.
He died while receiving treatment at the Provincial Hospital Gaur.
Similarly, Rinkudevi Thakur (38) of Gamharia, Fatuwa, Vijaypur Municipality–5 died after falling off a motorcycle (Ma Pra 02–03–11 Pa 3508) at Bahadurpur Tole, Kathariya Municipality–4, Rautahat
Thakur died on the way to a medical facility for treatment, police said.
