Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Parliamentary Party leader Gyan Bahadur Shahi has urged the government to be accountable to the people and to effectively implement the rule of law.
Speaking in the first session of the House of Representatives today, he suggested to the government to become responsible to the people and steer the nation ahead on the path of prosperity.
He stressed on finding out the truth and facts behind the incidents that occurred during the Gen Z uprising on September 8 and 9.
Emphasizing that governance should be conducted based on democratic values and principles, he stated that the light of the people's hope and trust should not be allowed to extinguish, but should be further strengthened.
“Although there have been many changes in the political system in Nepal, the situation of the people has not improved as expected. All files related to corruption in the country should be opened, and recently there have been not only party changes but also generational changes in Nepali politics, work should be done accordingly,” Shahi said.
He stated that victims of incidents like the Nirmala Pant and Inisha BK killings should receive timely justice. Shahi highlighted the need to create employment opportunities for the youth within the country.
MP Shahi said that all parties must unite to ensure good governance and the rule of law, demanding that citizenship should be provided to members of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).
He also stressed on focusing on the development of Karnali Province as it lags behind in terms of development compared to other provinces.
