Nepalis to return amid conflict from Kuwait

Nepali citizens stranded in Kuwait due to the Middle East conflict going on are set to return home on Wednesday through a chartered flight.

The flight will be operated by Kuwait Airways using a wide-body Boeing 777-300 aircraft. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has already granted permission for the operation.

According to Binod Singh Rawat, information officer at Gautam Buddha International Airport, the aircraft is scheduled to land at 4:45pm on Wednesday, carrying around 300 Nepali passengers.

The evacuation is being coordinated with the Nepali Embassy in Kuwait, as regular commercial flights between Nepal and Kuwait have been disrupted due to the regional conflict.

After landing in Bhairahawa, the aircraft is expected to depart at 6:15pm for Lahore and later return to Kuwait carrying cargo, according to airport officials.
