Police have arrested former Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Chhabi Rijal on Tuesday.
A team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office detained him from his residence in Koteshwor, Kathmandu this morning.
Rijal was the CDO of the Kathmandu District Administration Office during the Gen-Z Movement that occurred on September 8 and 9, 2025.
Rijal was arrested based on the recommendations of the Karki Commission formed to investigate the incidents of Gen-Z protests.
Superintendent of Police (SP) of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office Manohar Prasad Bhatta said that Rijal would be taken to the District Police Range, Kathmandu for further investigation.
Earlier on March 27, the CIB had arrested former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
