The private residence of former Prime Minister and outgoing Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha, which sustained severe damage during the Gen Z protests on September 8 and 9, has begun to be demolished.
The building was vandalized and set ablaze during the violent protests.

Demolition began after engineers, during the inspection, suggested that it would be better to dismantle the building rather than reconstructing.
The then Congress President Deuba and her wife former Foreign Minister Arzu Rana were also attacked during the Gen Z protests.

The Deuba couple, who sustained injuries, were later rescued by the Nepal Army helicopter.
