Bagmati Province Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya said that the Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences being operated under the domain of the provincial government would be developed into a University.
Inaugurating the newly constructed 200-bed (specialized service) building of Hetauda Hospital under the Academy today, he mentioned that work to develop the Academy into a university in the near future has already begun.
"By the time the students admitted to Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences receive their certificates, it will have become University," Chief Minister Baniya said, adding, "To that end, the provincial government has already started working, and it will soon be completed."
Since democracy is a system for the poor, they are committed to providing the poor with accessible and quality health services, CM Baniya said, assuring there would be no insufficiency of human resource and physical infrastructure at Hetauda Hospital.
The Health Minister of Bagmati Province Kiran Thapa Magar expressed a commitment not to allow a shortage of medicine and equipment in district hospitals and health institutions under the province.
Former Chief Minister Dormani Paudel, former Provincial Health Minister Ekalal Shrestha and others expressed confidence that the construction of the hospital building would facilitate the expansion of hospital services.
According to Bhupendra Kumar Yadav, Chief Engineer of the Urban Development and Building Office Makwanpur Hetauda, the hospital building was constructed at a total cost of Rs 266 million 425 thousand and 280 including VAT.
