KP Khanal of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Kailali-2.
The 26-year-old won the election by securing 19,057 votes.
Khanal defeated his nearest competitor Patram Chaudhary of Nagarik Unmukti Party by a margin of 7,108 votes. Chaudhary secured 11,949 votes.
Similarly, Surya Bahadur Thapa of the UML secured 7,886 votes while Nepali Congress candidate Bijay Bahadur Swar secured 7,213 votes.
Earlier, Komal Gyawali of the RSP emerged victorious in Kailali-1, Jagat Prasad Joshi of the RSP in Kailali 3, and Khemraj Koirala and Ananda Bahadur Chand of the RSP in Kailali 4 and 5 respectively.
