NC's Giri elected HoR member from Bajura

Nepali Congress candidate Janak Raj Giri has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Bajura, securing 17,173 votes. 

Chief Election Officer Sanjeev Pokharel said that Giri's closest competitor, Lal Bahadur Thapa, the candidate of the CPN-UML, received 16,633 votes.

According to Chief Election Officer Pokharel, Hemraj Thapa of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) received 6,035 votes, Prakash Bahadur Shah of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) received 3,428 votes, Keshar Bahadur Shahi of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) received 352 votes, and Bhupendra BK of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) received 333 votes.

Out of 87,861 registered voters in the district which is a single electoral constituency, 45,390 votes were cast. According to the Office of the Chief Election Officer of Bajura, 43,896 votes were valid when counted.
