Prashant Upreti, 25, a candidate of RSP has been elected to the House of Representatives from Makawanpur Constituency No. 1.
While Upreti was elected with 30,050 votes, his nearest competitor, CPN-UML candidate Mahesh Kumar Bartaula, received 18,846 votes. Upreti won by a margin of 11,204 votes.
Nepali Congress candidate Buddha Lama received 15,056 votes and Nepali Communist Party candidate Lavsher Bista received 12,492 votes.
Prabin Kumar Syangtan of the Ujjayaalo Nepal Party received 6,237 votes, Yunesh Lama Syangtan of the Shram Sanskriti Party received 932 votes and Ram Bahadur Thokar of the RPP received 785 votes.
