Amresh Kumar Singh of RSP has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives in Sarlahi 4 with 35,688 votes.
In the recently concluded vote counting, Singh secured 35,688 votes, while his nearest rival, Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa, secured 22,831 votes. In third place is UML's Amanish Kumar Yadav with 9,343 votes.
With this result, Amresh Singh has completed a hat-trick of victories. The election also marks the first defeat for Gagan Thapa.
Thapa had earlier won three consecutive elections from Kathmandu-4. He first entered Parliament as a proportional representation MP in the 2007 election.
This time, Thapa contested from Madhesh but was defeated, ending his winning streak.
