Dr Mahabir Pun, the former Minister for Education, Science and Technology, has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Myagdi.
The Office of the Chief Election Officer stated that Pun, an independent candidate, has won the election by securing 28,850 votes.
Chief Election Officer Surya Bahadur Thapa said that Pun's closest competitor, Hari Krishna Shrestha of the CPN-UML, received 7,919 votes while Karna Bahadur Bhandari of the Nepali Congress received 6,884 votes and Arjun Thapa of the Nepali Communist Party got 3,529 votes.
Out of 86,397 voters, 46,215 votes were cast in the voting held under the House of Representatives (HoR) Member election in Myagdi on Thursday.
