Vote counting started in Manang

Vote counting under the House of Representatives (HoR) Member elections held on Thursday has begun in the Himalayan district of Manang. 

Vote counting started after ballot boxes from five polling centres in Narpabhumi Rural Municipality, the remotest area in the district, were brought to the district headquarters by army helicopter. 

Chief Election Officer Ram Prasad Poudel said that the counting of votes started after the all-party meeting.

In Manang, 54.80 percent of votes were cast. Out of a total of 7, 000 voters here, 3, 164 votes have been cast. The district election officer Jivan Kunwar said that 1, 406 women and 1, 758 men have voted.
