SC to register new cases from October 14

The Supreme Court is to register new cases including writs from Tuesday, October 14.

A full court meeting of the apex court held on Sunday made the decision to this effect.

The Court was set on fire during the GenZ protests on September 9.

The fire destroyed nearly 80 percent of the cases filed in the Supreme Court.

According to a Supreme Court source, preparations are underway to provide information about the registration of new cases to legal practitioners and Nepal Bar Association.

The hearing will begin from Tuesday.

Earlier, Bar officials including Attorney General had suggested the Supreme Court to move ahead by filing new cases.
