Former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara has been arrested on Sunday.
According to Nepal Police spokesperson Binod Ghimire, Mahara was apprehended from Lalitpur.
A team of Central Investigation Bureau ( CIB) of Nepal Police took him under control today to investigate the smuggling case of 61 kg gold hidden in brake shoes.
Nepal Police had recorded his statement a few days ago in the same case.
