Pyramids forward Fiston Mayele scored a hat-trick to lead his side to the African-Asian-Pacific Cup title, following a 3-1 win over AFC Champions League winners Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, Reuters reported.
The African champions will play in the Challenger Cup against the winner of the match between Mexico's Cruz Azul and the CONMEBOL champions on December 13, for a place in the Intercontinental Cup final against European champions Paris St Germain four days later.
Mayele opened the scoring for the Egyptian side in the 21st minute, and the goal stood after a VAR review, according to Reuters.
