Former President and CPN-UML leader Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that no one can take away her membership.

She said so during a special press conference organized in the Capital on Friday.

"No one should take the decision in a hurry. Party should be operated as per the rules. I didn't leave the party to become the President," she said, adding ,"No one can take away my membership."

The UML Central Committee meeting held recently decided not to renew Bhandari's party membership.

The UML Central Committee meeting had decided not to renew Bhandari's membership, concluding that it was against the spirit of the Constitution for a person who has already become the President of the country entering politics.
