Two teenage girls living in a rented room in Sintitar, Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-9, Bhaktapur were found dead on Thursday.
Menuka Kandel (17) and her sister Sirjana Kandel (15) of Panchapuri Municipality-8, Surkhet were found hanging in the passage of the house that they were living in.
They were living in the ground floor of a two-storey house owned by local Niraj Chakradhar, said DSP Nawaraj Dhungana of the Metropolitan Police Circle, Thimi.
According to Chakradhar, the girls had come to live in the house only two weeks ago.
Police said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
